He put a 20-year-old student videographer named Declan Sullivan up in a 40 foot lift to film a Notre Dame practice. Standard procedure at all colleges. Problem was, he did it during a wind storm. The lift was only designed to sustain winds of 25 mph. The wind during practice got up to 53 mph and blew the lift right over in the middle of practice. The kid died of his injuries from the fall. That was back in 2010 during Kelly's first season as head coach. Notre Dame didn't fire him and there was never enough pressure from their fan base to fire him over his negligence.
