Jaden Rashada, 2023 4* QB, Pittsburg (HS), CA (Offered)

UW taking this kid would be a huge mistake. Florida is about to dodge a major bullet if they let him walk

Yawn. He's talented we have good QB coaching.

Lol. He’s not talented enough to put up with his dad

I don’t think Mr. U will be demanding face to face meetings with the coaches to threaten that if his son’s NIL deal doesn’t increase by millions, he leaves. But if it does come to that, let him walk, too.

Most QBs suck. But I also don't think a cocky freshman QB is capable of being a locker room cancer when you have a big Penix commanding the team. So sure, take a flier on him.

The Athletic confirmed he was supposed to get $13m from Florida collectives.

I wonder if the schools and the NCAA at some point band together to make some kind of salary cap.

TL;DR he signed a $13M NIL deal that Florida's NIL group had no means of achieving. NIL group rolled back the contract, now Rashada is up in the air

How do you guarantee open competition with a guy making that much?

NIL does not work when done like this. Look at AtM.

It would be the most toxic locker room

It will work out

Smart teams will buy vets. The market for high school kids will go down

This. It’ll be a process, but it’ll calm down eventually once schools realize there’s way more value in proven commodities than teen bois.

This. The Ohio State collective learned their lesson giving Ewers ~1.5Mish guaranteed and he never took a snap and left for Texas.

Hearing more of the newer NIL "agreements" have milestones attached. Slippery slope: no pay for play.

No $, no play....

That's a fucking absurd amount of money for a high school kid.

It figures that the deal would fall through. Not even the most "fuck you" moneyed boosters are going to contribute that kind of cash for a kid who is statistically unlikely to be a first teamer all conference. And that still wouldn't be enough to justify the money.

Most of these nil figures thrown around are 5-10x higher than what they actually are. Anything you see online just divide it by 10. 1.3m still too much for this kid

5-10X higher? Do you have a source or direct knowledge that this is the case?
