The cool thing everyone wanted to do out of HS in Washington is "move to cali!!1". There is this weird stigma about getting the fuck out of Washington even though it's really not that bad here.
I don't ever seriously make fun of a kid for not knowing where to go b/c they are still in High school and this isn't even a choice of where you want to spend 4-5 years. It's a choice of leaving for around 6-8 months. He's going to get paid a lot of money regardless of where he goes and is likely a top 3 pick. UW has shown that regardless of how terrible your team is, you can still have a #1 pick. UW could easily make noise this year with JM. It's more about who's in his ear. Romar has been gone for a couple years, so that's about the dumbest thing anyone could say. That being said, if they want a high pay day now, UW isn't going to be your place. I'm sure he'll get his fair share of cash here, but nothing close to what other programs offer.
I do think that talent is what's important, but there is a line where a person is such a primadona I wonder if they have any chance doing anything for the college team that one season other than be a pain in the ass. I don't know the kid so who knows, but some of the way kids(and their parents/coaches) handle recruiting has to be a signal for how screwed up their short career in college will be. it's not WDWHA, just an awareness that I don't expect him to be some sort of leader at UW if he can't even make a choice of a college through multiple signing periods when he knows he's staying one year.
***If he's really waiting on UK to have signings he has zero chance in the NBA. Jesus, he's going actually face competition the rest of his career. UK would prepare him for the NBA much faster than UW
