The thought of Jack Lockner making multiple split second decisions in a true triple option offense in CFB gives me nightmares.

Yeah how would that have worked without one of best QBs in league history? Probably 6-6 or 7-5.

Subpar QB play in the pac12 isn't a recipe for sustained success. It barely passes in the ACC most years for GT.

Power run game is one thing (like Stanford) - I'm all for that, wishbone is another. That wouldn't consistently work in the Pac12 in my opinion.

Not only does it handcuff the offense it also handcuffs your defense. They get no good looks during practices. The scout team is all built for option football, it's the reason their defense can be so awful at times.

I love watching a highly executed option, when they get the lead it can work wonders. It can also be awesome to watch when the opposing team wants nothing to do with being cut block all day. But there is a reason so few teams run that offense anymore.

Call me when these kids actually have to throw 6'6" DL running down their throat. Passing camps are as valuable as Seven's Alcoholics anonymous sponsorship pin.

The option definitely has its place ... I definitely think it is more effective from under center in a triple option form than in the backfield. I also think running from under center is more effective than from the shotgun. If for nothing less, the moving downhill results in negative plays being far less damaging than from the shotgun. But that's my opinion.

The Tui led offense had a perfect mix of option. If you run it just enough to make people have to worry about it and practice against it, it really helps in opening up the rest of your offense. If teams start keying on other parts of your offense, the option can then kill teams getting outside (see Rich Alexis' run against Miami).

Pepsi's point about Georgia Tech and their pass defense is very important. If Johnson could ever get a QB that could definitely throw the ball when needed, his offense would be very difficult to stop.
