It's time we had a serious discussion about OKG's

Will it hurt recruiting? Will it help recruiting? What makes an OKG? What disqualifies someone from being an OKG? If a kid comes to UW as an OKG but then gets caught with weed, does he cease to be an OKG? My head is spinning with all the possible threads we can create about this acronym.

Personally I think it stands for (Get) Out, Kim Grinolds!

Which is what Coach will be saying next time he finds a weasel milling around in his office claiming he left his jacket there. This is also a phrase Coach expects recruits to his program to use early and often.

Not worried about Petersen's ability to recruit, as I mentioned in another thread in a couple interviews he sounds excited about the recruiting advantages that UW brings. He will be able to bring in talent similar to Sark but hopefully they aren't as soft as F3/Eklund.

Petersen's criteria for OKGs may have contributed to USC's decision not to extend him an offer and thus Petersen's withdrawal. Even if though Sark can't coach, he will no doubt be successful recruiting top talent to USC.

Although I have some concern the highest rated players may not be OKGs, Petersen will get better recruits at UW than he did at BSU. He developed many less than 4 star recruits (I think he had one the last 8 years) into NFL draftees. Petersen's OKG is very reminiscent of Don James' approach to recruiting.

James only wanted players who were willing and committed to working very hard to become their best. His teams would've run through a wall if he had asked them. With Petersen we are going to see a similar emphasis on discipline, hard work, and pursuit of excellence. It's going to be fun following Husky football again.

So this guy would have been an OKG?

No, he's a pussy Sark would be interested in. What the fuck kind of wall was that? Must have been built without a permit since stud spacing not to code. Probably only 1/2 inch gypsum board. Pretty sure James' wall was brick and mortar.

Still stronger than Sark's fence.
