Lane to Bama makes a lot of sense. Hadn’t thought of that angle. There’s too much smoke now and the fact that Lane probably refuses to sign an extension until the playoffs are over probably has Ole Miss in panic mode.
Once the regular season is over it’s going to get crazy in chat!
I believe a big reason Sark may leave Texas is because if he stays it will be on him that Arch failed and will need to be replaced. Sark’s ego is probably bruised since he took a 5 star name over actually evaluating the best QB. That’s so Sark to chase stars over talent evaluation.

he doesn’t strike me as really happy to be in Bama. He’s a Dutchman. They like cold weather.
More life insurance sales in cold weather states, too.

LSU is a better job than Alabama.

This is why Lane sent his fucking ex-wife, son, brother, and nephew to Baton Rouge and Gainesville. How bad is the traffic? Did you get shot? Do they let non athletic scholarship brown people on campus?

@dtd I’ve read online that the LSU administration and the politics there is a huge negative. It’s a big red flag that LSU is back tracking on firing Kelly and stating their former AD pool boy was authorized to fire Kelly.
I believe the Florida would be a better fit for Lane especially with FSU down and Miami has been an elite program for 20 plus years. Louisiana has great in state talent but not as much as Florida. Although LSU doesn’t have two other Power 4 schools in their state. I’m surprised FSU hasn’t fired their coach yet but they may wait a year with all the open jobs.
I did read Kiffin sent his family to visit both Gainesville and Baton Rouge this week so he’s getting 3 schools in a bidding war. With the screwy recruiting schedule it will be crazy if Lane jumps ship as a top 5/6 seed before the playoffs. I don’t really follow recruiting but the December early signing seems very bad overall.

Aside from the stadium, Baton Rouge is a dump. One of the least impressive cities in the country.

Kalen is an upper-midwest guy running a West Coast offense. I don't think he would fit as well in the B1G because of the crap weather.
This isn’t a bad take. DeBoer never practiced in the rain here. Always in Dempsey. When his offense had to play in rainy conditions, ASU, OSU they looked like shit. Maybe the years of playing/coaching in South Dakota soured him on ever being cold or wet again.

None of this is really interesting until the 2 losers have to slink back and sell their fans on Dinkwood and the Tulane coach.

DeBoer to Penn State has Mora is the guy vibes
Keep the fans engaged while they hire someone else

Oh, it's god awful. I've been there. It's a third world country.

Oxford on the other hand is fucking perfect. Great college town, good restaurants. No crime. No traffic except game days.

Wood move there in a heartbeat.

I think DeBoer is a very good coach.

But I also think 2023 was a bit of an anomaly with regard to how that roster was constructed. Didn’t yall have like 40 players who were either 4th or 5th year?

It's not as drastic as 40, and that would matter more if UW also wasn't the best team in the Pac 12 the year before, and before that they were also preseason contenders to win the conference with NFL/experienced players that never got to enjoy DeBoer's tenure (Otton off the top of my head).
Petersen had it rolling in terms of roster building and the 2019 season obfuscated that because he was still losing to the Bay schools and Colorado for no reason.

Not to mention that coming out of Covid if you didn’t have a shit ton of 4th and 5th year players you were a shit program

I was going to say that almost every team in the top 6-7 that year massively benefited from it.

LMFAO @ "preseason contenders" said with a straight face. JFC.
UW had won their division the year before and absolutely was a preseason Pac 12 contender. We had a veteran team heading that season.
I guess guys like Phil Steele don't count to you, so what backwater hick Oregon fag do I need to quote for it to count?

The Dwags were #20 when they lost to Montana. There was a lot of mystery with the Pac-12 going into that season. The champion Utah lost to BYU and San Diego State early. Dogshit season and any non-mongoloid UW coach should have gotten them to at least a pretty decent season.
