Don Pellum has the same resume as Hoke other than being 78-70 as a head coach. Special, right? Being a head coach has zero bearing on how you are as a coordinator and vice versa. Gene Chizik, Will Muschamp, etc.
How involved is a guy that doesn't even wear a headset on the sideline?
If I hear one more Duck fan give a guy who had a D-coordinator and wasn't even involved during games credit for "turning Michigan around" by getting fired in four years I'm going to fucking snap.
The absolute truth of this hire is the guy was a mediocre to awful head coach who fell into a BCS bowl and has zero experience as a coordinator. Do you know who else has that same fucking resume? Ty Willingham. Next time you come to the big boy table don't be a fucking retard.
Nothing about this hire should bring excitement. At best it's LIPO. With Slingblade failure is much more realistic.

Agree to disagree. Rich Rod increased his win total every year, Hoke decreased his win total every year.
I know you like to pretend that insulting a rich Mexican upsets people, but the reality is there are like five active coaches with a better resume than Rich Rod. Saban, Stoops, Shaw, Miles, and...? I can't even think of a fifth one unless we are giving one hit wonders like Jimbo or the Sparty guy.

I'm a huge Rich Rod fanboy but you've really gone off the deep end here.
Meyer, D'Antonio, Patterson, Petersen, Harbaugh, Brian Kelly, Dabo, Jimbo, Petrino...are we done here or should I keep going?

Richrod tore up the Big LEast when it was something like South Florida, Temple, UConn, Louisville, Cincinnati, Pitt way after the glory years, and Syracuse, again, post glory days. Then he went 3-8 in his first year at a perennial top 15 team. He's nowhere near the top five.
He can do OK at a basketball school. As a sort of Arizona football fan, he's not a bad fit.

First off, Harbaugh hasn't ever actually won anything. He's a fucking Doog legend, which means he hasn't ever really done anything, but one day he might, maybe. Losing to Sparty and tOSU in the same season in Ann Arbor used to mean suicide watch, now I guess it means you are great. Slingblade has more accomplishments in than Harbaugh, so until he actually does something, FTG.
Urbs is obvious. Brian Kelly pre-Notre Dame was a monster. Now he's the typical make a big game every three years and get ass raped ND coach. He has three 8-5 seasons with endless talent and resources. The ghost of Brian Kelly gets the nod.
Everyone else is debatable which is my point. Most college coaches that show any real signs of greatness fuck it up by taking the NFL money grab and their career is never the same after or they just never get over the hump at a big name program. Then you have your decent coaches that have one miracle year; Dabo, Jimbo, the guy at Auburn now who was another Doog legend and he fit the bill perfectly.
