Why don't we respect the fucking tradition and wear the leather helmets like when Dobie was coach? While we're at it lets replace the turf with muddy grass put the track back in and tear down the upper decks.
 
Tradition doesn't win anymore, unless your team is down south. Hell, even Ohio State and Notre Dame are changing uniforms up. Don't be surprised if Michigan also does a major change in the next three years.

Nike figured that out before anybody and used Oregon as the test subject. Seemed to have worked, as does most things Nike gets into. Statement of fact, like it or not.
 
The reason I like gold helmets is not so much about tradition as it is part of the identity of UW. If you had to choose one single image or icon to represent husky football it would be the gold helmet, IMO. IDGAF if they change the font of the numbers or whatever, just not the gold helmet.

The white helmets are especially bad because they look like practice equipment. If you are going to change the unis, at least do something that looks good, not some cheap shit that belongs at an under-funded middle school.

I'm also a hater of the white helmets. If they are going to don those things, at least go back to the white helmets from the past few years. They had a shiny texture. The ones they are using this year have that orange peel texture. Also, they look really bad without the stripes.
 
Why white helmets? I understand there was a massive shitlanche back in the days before uniform combinations over the "Winnipeg Blue Bomber Jim Lambright Fucking Crazy/Stupid" purple helmets, but purple should be in the helmet rotation over white.

Lambo's purple helmets sucked worse, especially with the huge cheddar cheese yellow "W".

Agreed, the 1995 Blue Bomber helmet were the worst. They must have run out of gold paint and had to borrow some yellow paint from ASU for those. The '96'-'98 ones were less worse with the gold. These days we could be sporting chrome purple with chrome gold 'W.' White is BYU/Pedo State fucking lame.

It's fitting the cuogs now pattern themselves after Stanford with white helmets w/ small logo's, red jersey's and white pants... just as Stanford is getting shitty again and is saddled with a coach they can't fire.
