Boise's Head Coach, Spencer Danielson, is 36 and this is his record:

Both are good coaches, but Danielson has turned Jeanty from good into a Heisman winner, while likely going 11-1…only loss to the #1 team on the road when they had every chance to win.
Sure Danielson doesn't have a season without Jeanty yet, but if he keeps it up and wins double digits games in 2025 and 2026 and Fisch doesn't get it done, or leaves for another job after a stellar season, I'd much rather have him than Eck.
 
Boise was so bad last year they fired their coach and he has gone 14-2 since.
It's not just Jeanty, it's the line, defense, and all around program that is as strong as it's looked since Peteylips.
Not saying hire him now, but it's someone to keep an eye on as a rising star in the sport. Certainly better than Eck.
If Eck was undefeated and winning the FCS title, that's one thing, but he can't even dominate the Big Sky as of yet.
