Hard to see Cal/Stanford come crawling back to be in a conference with Fresno and SDSU.
Utah and maybe BYU become 7 & 8.

I think it’ll be UNLV (big market/stadium) and either Nevada or Hawaii
what a power conference.

Not Hawaii. NO ONE wants that kind of travel. And as a soon to be power 5 conference no one wants the extra game that is awarded to anyone who travels to Hawaii. RIP Rainbow Warriors.
 
That is extremely expensive. I am not saying that I am good with money, but I wouldn’t pay that much to change my name from the Mountain West Conference to the PAC-12.

Inflation being what it is might make it cost prohibitive to remain with the ACC

i posted this on the cfb bored but i thought it was funny neither wilner/canzano had it first, yahoo sports did.

Don't they have to keep it as the PAC in name in order to retain their "Power 5" status under the CFP?
 
Without any high achievement / major market programs as defined by the TV networks, I'm wondering how they figure to continue to qualify for the magical power 5 status they continue to seek… Captain obvious says that the TV networks and the playoff power players will keep this minor league group of teams out of the automatic playoff slot equation ~ teams will have to qualify through the ranking system.

It would be good enough that the conference champ should get a crack at it in the yoffs. They let ND in every year playing a worse schedule
