My first and last Husky Football light rail attempt for the CSU game was a big pain in the anoose.
Jest. I was downtown before the Ohio State game and decided to take it to the stadium instead of a $40 Uber. First train went by so full I couldn't get on. Legit waited 25 minutes for the next. Had to bull rush to get into a car so packed it was dangerous and tons of people behind me weren't able. Assume a ton werent' able to get to the stadium in time. I left incredibly early and still was worried I might not get there in time.
I think the light rail is incredibly convenient for non mass attendance events. I'm so glad the region started getting this built.
We bailed at CSU at half time since the kiddies were zonked (had just come back from a trip abroad). Even at half time it was cluster fuck waiting to get onto northbound trains. Not nearly the volume and frequency needed to handle peak demand.
My MO when I still lived in NE Seattle, was to park in Wallingford as close to I-5 as possible and walk 15 mins down the Burke. Free and easy and got my steps in!!
I have family roughly around there and do that. That area also just has more places I want to eat at/be at after games. Blue Moon, where I lived a block from 3/4 years at UW, is completely fucked out now and they act like they don't even want football fans there. Got solicited by a prostitute there after ASU in 2023. Creepy fucking place now.
I'm so old I've smoked cigarettes inside of the Blue Moon! Those were the days when UW had tuff REAL taverns. No liquor, just cold beer, a little win, and lots of tobacco smoke.

Taverns were fucking awesome. Maybe a shuffle board table or dartboard. Beer in glass pitchers that held more than 3 beers.
