If we run for 100 yards we win this game

The line, Coleman, and Gaskin are the keys to this game.

I legitimately believe our defense will give them problems.

If we cant run and have to rely exclusively on Browning things will get ugly fast

I just hope we can do better than Florida's ZERO yards rushing in their conf champ game. But they only had 30 carries.

1, maybe 2 turnovers max. Cannot let their defense score or setup short fields deep in our territory. UW defense > Bama offense... but their defense is just as dangerous as their offense.

This. No running game, no fucking chance.

Hopefully SmithFS runs over and over and Jake doesn't throw a pick 6 or gets greedy and forgets his tight ends over the middle, hopefully they kick off to Ross, and punt a few times to Pettis

there are not many ways to beat Bama, but thier run D is historically good. we need the browning pre Oregon state to show up or we are fucked.

You don't beat Bama with trick plays and Bubble screens

HTH

1. Running on Bama is really freaking hard. Ask LF7 and any other name brand rb's we've gone up against.
2. Hurry up offenses where our guys get off balance for a full drive have never been a good thing for us
3. and most importantly, we get beat by QB's that are dual threat or just insanely good.

This team is savage. All Saban teams are. They're human though, and football isn't decided by a series of games. You get one chance. If I were the Washington coach, I would stress constantly that it's just business. Get in the team's heads. Eradicate any and -all- emotion, even the good motivating kinds, before the game. Think of it as business, and don't stop until the game's f'king over. I'd keep going, but I'm distracted af.

Cause we should for sure try to line up and run it straight at a team giving up 2.03 yards per rush. Good game plan.

Jesus here we go... as if we didn't learn from fucking the USC game

There are other options than exclusively running up the middle. For us to be successful we will have to use a north south running game but coupled with a strong showing from browning in the short and intermediate passing game. At no point should jake attempt to go deep or it will get picked. We just have to stick to our strengths, let explosive plays occur naturally if they do (as opposed to our coaches attempts to fabricate them), and just keep their offense in check.

I don't see any path to victory that allows for blowing them out. We have a chance to win though by playing our best with a sound game plan that focuses on our strengths.

This is literally the exact opposite of SC, SC was vulnerable against the run which is why it was FS to try and pass it. Alabama is not vulnerable against the run at all. You have to be balanced.

I'm not expecting us to win, nor to have much success on offense.
Losing 27-13 or something would be acceptable. Don't pull a MSU.

If death row can force hurts into some bad throws or UW gets a ST TD UW has a chance.

And I know people hate them, but you will need to run at least one trick play

You do have to be balanced... totally agree. And doing a run heavy game would be foolish. Balanced attack. Stay a step ahead of our defensive play calling. As little time between snaps as possible, even if you haven't gotten super efficient or practiced at that.

yep. may have to break out hurry up and rely on the defense to hold up. tall ask but might be the only way

Will Smith have the discipline to stick with the run even when bama initially stuffs it? He didn't against usc. Crisp short and intermediate routes MUST be practiced over them next couple weeks. Jake will need to get rid of the ball quickly AND BE ACCURATE.

Abandoning the run too early and inaccurate deep balls will lead to a blowout.

Our Defense is better than their offense. Hopefully Ross and Pettis can get loose in the return game.

I don't think anyone hates trick plays but they do hate 3 or 4 in one half.
