If Jedd gives up playcalling duties, is that show of humility enough to get you on board?

All one needs to know is that we're still hopefull that some philosophical changes and fine tuning might fix everything that's wrong. When that's the topic two years in it's already over.

Jimmie was hired to be a yes man and posed zero threat knowledge wise in Judds eyes. Also regarding Judd…

He
Doesn’t
Want
To
Be
Here
He probably has aspirations of coaching a blue blood or in the NFL, but he wouldn’t be recruiting if he didn’t want to succeed at UW. I don’t think our struggle are for a lack of effort. I know you didn’t say that, but the players and recruits don’t seem to think he doesn’t want to be here.

Other than Sark, coaches leaving UW means they have won. I think we will be quite a bit better next year. Hopefully that is at least a playoff appearance.

UW is a really good job. It’s a job a coach can win at without crazy pressure. The money is there if you win.

I'd love for him to give up play calling and hire Jonathan Smith but don't see any chance of that happening, at least for the 2026 season. I strongly suspect that he wants to be an NFL HC and a lot more NFL coaches call their own plays (such as Mike Macdonald of the Hawks).

His best option out is to rebuild UW into a consistent playoff contender, stay 6 years, recruit in the top 10-20 then leave to coach the Dolphins or Jags or some other shitty NFL team in a warm climate

This board is obsessed with retreads. Mora, Tedford, and now Smith recommended for the head coach and OC jobs.

There are many other coaches out there. There are way better OC’s than Smith.

I don't love him but think he's a good OC. He isn't a good recruiter and Jimmy Daugherty is undoubtedly better there.

why is he a good OC?
Literally nothing about his offenses have impressed me. UW was stuck in mud just as bad with him under Petersen against good teams as they are now with Jedd.

The Huskies put points on the board and had a lot of 1,000 yard rushers. What held the offense back from being even better was the WR recruiting once John Ross and Dante Pettis left. Petersen then hired Junior Adams to fix it but Smith had left for Oregon State.

I'm just not crazy about how he runs the program overall, primarily the lack of discipline, attention to detail, and how they carry themselves (Players and coaches included).

We're good for at least one sideline warning a game, if not the HC running onto the fucking field vs #1 team in the country causing a personal foul penalty, early in the game when it was still in doubt. Bush league.

Then there was the player last year running onto the field vs Rutgers negating a blocked FG/fumble recovery or whatever it was, and playing the very next drive. No accountability.

I could go on and on, but good coaches don't allow this crap from their players, let alone their assistant coaches and themself.

110% agreed and well said. But maybe somewhat tangential, I was very impressed with how the Defense was run this year.

Would get me willing to go along, allow myself to get more excited and give it all a go, yes.

As it is, I'm really struggling.
I'm still recovering from "not running the ball when it was working so well" vs Oregon.

don’t be an idiot. You can’t agree more than 100% just like you can’t be committed to a school more than 100%. Be smarter than the kids… FTK.
