Malloe has produced draft picks and coached some damn good DLs. His recruiting has been a roller coaster. I'd rank him highest overall though.

Huff has had OK to solid results on the field and been a roller coaster in recruiting similar to Malloe.

Adams recruits. On field results have been shaky.

Cato seems to recruit. Other than that who knows?

Gregory is a liability in recruiting. I think he's a good coach in terms of developing and in game though.

The others don't bear mentioning. I don't even know the DL coach's name, so nothing good or bad to say about him.

It's a fucking lackluster staff given what should be expected at UW.

Fuck I completely forgot about Donovan. Whatever.

He's in the not worth mentioning category along with the DB coaches. Fuck boner.

These are businesses, and creepy ones at that.

It’s AAU basketball except for football. Most of the coaches are grifters trying to grift their way up. A few of them mean well. Some are a mix of the two.

The AAU comparison is right on. Football hustlers like Baron Flenory, Willie Lyles, and co. used to get some easy money for “scouting services” and helping at “camps” but now they (or their relatives) can get a salary and a 401k.



At least ^ has a football coaching background. Look at someone like USC quality control analyst Bryan Carrington. Formerly Texas’ recruiting director. There is good money in:

A. Selling dreams, in the form of exposure, development, and potential scholarships.
B. Having influence over the college attendance choices of talented young men.

That’s diversification and two revenue streams, kids and colleges. Maybe the pros pay as well, no idea - at worst it’s the ideal free pub for the business.

On one hand these dudes are operating in what some of us consider an ethical gray area, on the other they are taking advantage of an opportunity in the free market.
