Gender dysphoria for decades was mostly young boys starting at age 3 or so. It’s a very real disorder and needs to be treated seriously and taken seriously. I have sympathy and feel for these people. Also, it is very rare.
Now days there vast majority of cases are made of of adolescent girls. Most eventually end up indentifying with their biological sex. It’s mostly social and peer related. This should also be taken seriously, but recommending and prescribing testosterone and surgery is abuse and criminal. It’s like a girl coming to a school counselor and saying she is morbidly obese and wants help, the school counselor refers her to a dr who specializes in gastric bypass and recommends counseling for her over eating. But the girl weighs 90lbs and has body dysphoria.
