Back in California we got a notice that the power company had a neat new way for us to "save money" by hooking up a smart meter. We opted out once then had to opt out again when they signed us up anyway. Well these poor suckers in Colorado fucked around and found out.

Nothing wrong with a smart home. I like my programable smart thermostat. As long as I'm the one doing the programming. I can turn it up, go away for a week, then dial it down on the way home and have it comfortable by the time I get home. No way I sign up for some incompetent bureaucrat turning off my air conditioning. Deal with the real problem, the damn dirty not green super expensive renewables.

I’m talking about disabling. Not locating. And I’m not taking about the cops. I’m talking about forced rationing auto use in a “climate crisis”. Major automakers could disable millions of cars if given the order.

But I’m sure the government would NEVER do that. Or force people to take an untested medical procedure to keep their jobs, or go to a football game. Or to carry proof of the medical procedure electronically. Or weld bars or basketball hoops. Or arrest people for laying on the beach….. or have millions of Americans rat on their neighbors for not following the rules. All is well.
