I spread them in the shrubbery adjacent to the Don James statue. It wasn't some big emotional thing or whatever. But the knowledge that he would have found that to be a good thing.

My maternal grandpappy - the one who stormed the beaches of Normandy in real life - was a Nebraska classy undertaker.

He loathed cremation and said it wasn't a proper "Christian" burial. Of course, it was bad for bidness as well.

My dad was 12 years old when his dad took him to his first game at Husky Stadium in 1951. (Washington 63, Oregon 6).

If someone would have walked up to him as they approached the stadium and said "75 years from now, YOUR son will be spreading your ashes right over there," that probably would have freaked him out.
