There was a common thought with fans and media that UW getting to 8-4 was gonna take a lot of breaks or magical coaching. It wasn't the case. This team actually should be sitting at 7-4. Rutgers was such a bizarre calamity it was a metrics game where the team in UW's spot hasn't lost in what 50+ years. Apple Cup was kind of a toss up.
Now that the dust has settled this should be the low bar, possibly even with a coaching chance, moving forward.

UW is basically an 8 win team head in to Autzen if Demond had been starting earlier in the year (WSU and Rutgers gaymes). That's what I tell myself to cope with the incoming plunger.
