I have never seen so little Husky football talk in mid-August

Still hungover from 2023. Last year was shit. Expected shit, but still shit.
Higher expectations are in place but need to actually see something before really getting into it. Blowouts, like we're supposed to do, against CSU and WSU will start it up going into tOSU.
The vanilla board disaster makes it hard too

Agree on blowouts. If they beat CSU 34-17, UC Davis 31-7 and WSU 28-20 my pre-season boner will have gone pretty flaccid.

I would take those #’s in a heartbeat. 3-0 is all that matters when Buckeye comes callin’

Didn’t say I’d stop watching or going to games. Just means my off season boner would have withered with the unimpressive wins and I’d expect a pretty potent ass whipping when Bucknuts comes to town.

those numbers might not spell doom by themselves.

Sleepwalking wins through the first two games, then beating a fiesty Pullman cewg as a tune-up.
Start 4-0. Nothing else matters. Besides starting 3-1 and then beating Oregon....

Make SENSE??@

Just straight up blaming the portal in 2025 if you bought in for 2022-23 as a UW fan is kind of hypocritical. No portal. Fine. No Penix and Dylan Morris is DeBoer's QB those seasons. Good news! DeBoer is probably still here and has a record a lot like Sark's when he was here.
We've had a worst of all time run after a great of all time run of shit that specifically mostly has to do with the modern landscape of college football, but if we get rolling again, especially as soon as 2025, we should be bought in.
I think some of the stuff like the portal and NIL may calm down a bit outside of QBs too.
When a team is successful, fans look past it.

Part of it is just not having the energy or will to try and figure out who the new true and r.s. freshpersons are, plus the 17-800 new portal guys. It used to be you could follow a player for a few years.

I am a loyal person, so seeing a kid jump to three different schools doesn't sit well with me. "I can't start as an 18 or 19 year old. It's not fair! I'll transfer to Kansas then and go 5-7." It's all about them and not the team.

I honestly don't know who these dudes are. Looks like I need to do my own research.
I don't know either.

Part of the fun of CFB was watching the roster grow organically. Guys might play as a RS freshman, then start as a so. Now it's everyone for themselves, transfer to Texas A&M. Wait, Clumpson will pay me more to endorse nail polish. Let's go there. I am not going to bother to invest time in rosters that turn over by 50 or 55 guys each year.
That's on you for not paying attention. Bryant, Davis, Williams and Lane are all Huskies recruited out of HS and are all entering their third year in the program. Where have you been? Audric Harris is in his second year and played as a true freshman, Durftoe is in his third year at UW. Just admit you don't care because there are many players you can watch grow and develop if you look. Fish has said many times he wants less and less portal additions every year. He wants what you and I both want. Recruit them, develop them, pay them, keep them. The program is rebuilding through recruiting but they had to take 50+ players the last two years because you can't play a team of strictly first and second year guys and compete. If Judd loses a bunch of starters that are "his guys" after this season and next then I'll possibly start to check out but UW aint there yet. You've got to admit the circumstances after the Deboer exit were catastrophic, then pair it with Jimmy's last shitty class and DeBoers first shitty class and you're in a pickle in terms of sheer numbers. It's getting better, open yo eyes Worshington!

It's on me to fake caring? It's not Fisch's fault. He's part of a screwed up system. It doesn't mean I'm required to be a fan boy in July and August and know the two deeps to prove I'm a fan. Ultimately it's entertainment. I'm less entertained. Guys transfer twice. We play games in Ames Iowa and Bloomington Indiana. It doesn't feel right. At all.

Bill, transfer and portal giveth and taketh away. I’ve lost interest in following that shit, however, Fisch has a good mainstay of guys(from AZ and dudes that stayed post DeBoer) We have a decent local contingent on roster too. Sit back and relax, go to a gayme, it’s entertainment bud. Don’t let the politics and other shit ruin the game for you.

I’m going to the apple cup and will talk shit and enjoy foosball, same as I did in the 90s

Be like water. The old ways are dead. College football is still a blast and is still a great product. 22 and 23 portal gave UW Penix, Polk, Big Papa, DJ and Jabbar Mohammad and very few players portaled out. Amazing! 24 strip mined the team because their fat head coach pulled up stakes and left. The game is broken!! You watch, UW will lose 5-10 guys that don’t matter after this season and take 5-10 guys in the portal that will help. The numbers are regulating and guys want to be here and they want to play for Judd and this staff. As long as Fish is here it’ll be that way, no more 50 new guys to figure out. If he leaves for another college job then UW will be gutted again. Lather, rinse, repeat. I’ll be here for it and watch the program reset again. No big deal.

Huskies are legitimately really dangerous with how the schedule and rest of the conference appears to be shaking out, at the same time that we're implementing a quarterback that appears to be in the Johnny Football tier of "what the fuck is going on with this team's quarterback murdering us like this".
