I recorded the game, turned my TV off, turned my phone off, put together 500 pieces of a 1000 piece puzzle, listened to four albums and relaxed as much as I could. Checked the clock around 9:45 and I'm thinking it's probably safe to turn my phone back on. Games gotta be over. I look at the last messages that popped up from my group and I see a string of text that look something like this, FUCK! NO! FUCK, we can't lose this now. WTF!!!! and I turn the phone over and went back to my puzzle. Fifteen minutes later, shaking and about to vomit I check again and UW had won. I start communicating with my friends, restart the game and watch a typical UW football game. They did everything they could to keep Texas in the game and still found a way to make one more play than the opponent. It's truly incredible. We all can nitpick the process but no one can argue with results. I knew the score and the game was still riveting and anxiety ridden. The Michigan game will be the same way because that's what this team does. I think they got this and I'm ready for it.

Truly felt like we were in one of those games where it goes down in history as how did you lose this game? Losing likely because you had a player legit get hurt and it stopped the clock after Oregon cheated with guys faking injuries to buy time would have been horribly ironic. I think the football gods are on OUR side. Of all the questionable shit that went down at the end it seems having Penix throw it there and throw it away on third down before the final field goal was the biggest mistake. The chances of a throw opening there that was safe enough to make didn't seem worth not making Texas use their second time out.

Lanning burned something like 40 live seconds in 3 snaps having Nix run around and on the last play heave it oob Magic Johnson vs Portland style, against some team this year. UW could have lost 40 yards taking delayed knees and the game would be over.

What? They were at the 40. Go watch again. Worst case scenario they punt from the 50 and TX has 20 seconds to go 70 yards (shouldn't be worse than 80) with no TOs. Instead they run, run could have fumbled, could have fumbled, get injured, stop the clock with 50 seconds and then rough the receiver for 15 fucking yards. Dumbest possible outcome and put themselves in a position to lose when it was nearly statistically impossible. End of WSU stupid.

It's the same argument. Things could have been done at much lower risk to run MORE tim off the clock.

Run, run = chance of getting 1st down and winning game but risk fumble, fumble, injury stop clock, injury stop clock versus knee, knee take at most 8 seconds less off clock (remember they had 2 TOs) punt and they have to go 70-85 yards in 15-20 seconds. One scenario has far more risk than the other.

Remind me of the Oregon scenario again in the CCG which was similar to the one above? I think the difference was field position. In the CCG we were pinned on our end and had no choice but to go for first downs. Taking a knee or trying to run out the clock deep in our end wasn't an option. Last night we were at their 40. Two completely different scenarios.
