People forget that Don James is the one who first adopted purple pants for the road uniform after his players asked to do it. People forget that.

People forget that the Huskies came out with the all-purple look against Colorado at home in 1989 and proceeded to shit the bed against the Buffs.

But @CoachThomas is right - that started them on the road in 1990 I think per the players request. James did say NEVER AGAIN to the full grape look

The sleeves are terrible, agreed.

If Adidas and the UWAD go with purple pants, I hope they don't use the late-80s/early-90s-style "W" on the hips.

2000 was better than what we have now, without question.

Still, my personal preference (which is legally binding on the UW Athletic Department) is for the piping on the pants and sleeves from the DJ era.

Also, while the uniforms in 1991 were great for that era, I don't think the shiny fabric for the pants stood the test of time. Sorry, Coker.
