Husky Jacks open thread [2025]

We should absolutely beat Illinois next year and could be a nice building block getting a win over a fake ranked (possibly highly ranked) team. If we can't time to throw Jedd in the Montlake Cut.
It seems like we should just throw him in the Cut anyway. Why wait?

.
The thing with Judd is win or lose, we're eventually gonna hate him. The problem with most college football coaches and at most progrums now is it's become if you steal your girlfriend or wife away from another guy you should be prepared there's a good chance she'll eventually do you the same as she did the last guy. Players damn near the same now too.

It doesn't help that he constantly over promises and under delivers on everything, and has an appearance that just doesn't send the same message that Petersen and DeBoer did.
He's also embracing the shit that older fans hate about cfb whereas Petersen and DeBoer mostly got to thumb their noses at it.

Yeah Judd's operation really reminds me more of corporate CEO or politician than football coach especially with the overpromise and underdeliver shit. Problem is though as a football coach you get an actual report card with wins and losses. It really seems now the job is mostly talent acquisition and fundraising though so no Petermans or Don James are getting into this shit now.
I'm fine with the mindset that if Judd does so well he goes to the NFL that it means we had good times and we will have to have a plan to find a way to retain the talent we have this time and not have a mass exodus. Maybe try to identify a Cignetti situation where you hire a lower conference coach who can basically bring their team with them.

That's a horrible song to be playing for that video but still.

Think it was mentioned on the podcast at one point, but the Iowa State coach probably would have done well at Washington.

Yeah, the Matt Campbell hypothetical was a twisting road. It really seemed like we dodged a bullet with what DeBoer did in 2022-23 and Campbell going 4-8 (they were 1-6 in close games is why) in 2022 and doing shit like almost fighting fans. We don't reach the 2023 heights with him and without Penix but he probably keeps all the guys on the roster and we are good those years, with our ceiling depending on if we get a portal QB and which one.
Positives are Campbell would probably still be here and we are probably better under him in 2024 and going into the Big 10. I do question though how good he would be at the bullshit song and dance you have to do for talent acquisition at a Top 25 program now though.

Yeah I mean it’s not good when the coach’s wife moves back to where they came from and is openly posting about it on Instagram. Scheer is a huge loser, both are true
