Husky Jacks open thread [2023]

If Lars is reporting it, then I suspect neither will suit up.

I always expected them to give it a go. Odunze will be a pain tolerance issue and McMillan will need to knock off the rust.

Spoken like someone who’s never played competitive sports…
The goal is to prevent long term lingering injury because players do not experience pain while performing. Sports medicine 101

Odunze apparently doesn’t have an injury that if aggravated would result in long term impact. That’s what I heard. It could be bullshit.

It's not.

Listened to the presser. Morrell didn’t say there was “a chance Assa and Tuli would play.” The question was “Is there a chance they’ll play?” And he said yes. To me it’s different and better.

Sorry pal, no such luck. Tuli and Asa are out for this one. The backups are abysmal and stand 0 chance of holding up from the onslaught you're about to receive.

May as well not even play the game.

BTW, hi Damone!

Let's not go that far...Those Husky tears and excuses are great entertainment and the payoff from Bovada is just too good.

I hear 5-7 is still in play.

Moving forward we didn't get another top 10 battle until the 97 Nebraska game listed above (#FireLambo)

After that:

98 @ Nebraska (L)
00 @ UCLA (L)

We didn't get back in the top 10 until 2016 (FUCK!) which had 3 top 10 battles
Stanford (listed above - W)
Colorado (Pac12 cash game - W)
Bama (CFP - L)

2017 we? were top 10 over half the season but didn't play any other top 10 teams when we were.

18 - Auburn ("Neutral" - L)
tOSU (RB - L)

19-22 never made top 10 (until after the final game of 2022)

So going back to 1991 we have had 11 top 10 matchups
2 at home (1 and 1)
4 on the road (2 and 2)
5 Neutral (2 and 3)

Going the other direction you have to go back to 1986
@ ASU (L)

The 84 team only had one
OU (Orange Bowl - W)

One of our better teams no one remembers (butt Race) was 1982, they had two back to back in November
UCLA at home mentioned above (W)
@ ASU (W)

81 didn't make top 10 until the final pole and there were no others going back through the DJ era. Someone else can research the Owens era on back if they like.

DJ era to current summary: 15 total top 10 v top 10 matchups
3 home (2 and 1)
6 road (3 and 3)
6 neutral (3 and 3)

NOC butt me butt I used sports reference for this, they use the AP pole fwiw.

UW was 7-1-2 in 62. McKay won his first national championship. Owens would get his last Rose Bowl in 63 and the long sleep began
