Husky Jacks open thread [2021]

A safety who got slower as his career went on and drank 40's of Old English? Ok then. I'm on record I think Asa Turner will be fine. No spring last year, first year starter, he's up to 210 which mentally will help him out.

Read Jimmy’s quotes this morning. He said we have all conference players in every position group. Sizzle sure, but we really do have some studs.

And I of course am happy that Turner wasn’t with the ones to begin with. Hampton makes me way more excited. Let’s get some hitters on defense. They gotta feel those 5 yard runs. Every great defense hits. It’s that simple.

I would support a Tommie Smith like safety in the secondary

Great evaluation as always. Smith won 2 Rosebowls, including a Nattie. Bad ass on a bad ass defense and you’re going to shit on him. Off all your recent shit takes, this one is a new low.

Your boy Lambo would have run Turner back to Cali after that Stanford embarrassment.

Lambo might have been a shit HC but he didn’t suffer fools gladly, nor would he tolerate a pussy on his defense.

Be a better poster

Stop living in the past
“Would support” is present/future tense. HTH

Present tense: I am supporting a Tommie Smith-like safety in the secondary.

Pump the brakes until it shows in real games. Smith has already been there, done that.

But we’ll continue to play McGrew and Pleasant, because KB

Thought I was the only one long on Sunday?

Not gonna dig up the receipts, but I’ve been a big Sunday guy on the TBS boreds. Dude runs goofy but he runs hard, and is an absolute bitch to tackle. The anti-Salvon Ahmed

Room for both of us on the wagon I suppose.

Can’t lie, I’m dooging. This is the guy at RB. I don’t hate him yet.

If he dominates in spring ball and looks like the clear best option, we will have about 4 roster spots open up post-spring

It's encouraging to hear that Sunday lined up with Huard and the 2nd team offense. His HS film shows he has great vision, which could be all he needs to leapfrog some upperclassmen for carriers. Not sure how Cam Davis will do, though, given that he flashed on the field in limited capacity.

I still think Davis is the guy, but he's getting and will continue to get screwed by the presence of Pleasant and McGrew. Their mediocre steadiness is comforting to the staff or something. It takes a new guy a few consecutive series before you have an idea what he's going to do, and Davis is stuck getting yanked for one of them after a couple of carries for another year. Sunday will be in the same boat.

I am personally not going to lament Newton one but if he's gone. He's just another limited RB in the way of younger, potentially (probably) better players getting the carries they need to show what they can do.

I liked Newton but some of it was probably doog hope. I liked Sunday as a recruit and am rooting for the kid. Really, I just want someone to be the man at RB and produce. The coaches need to pick two guys and go with them. Letting 4-5 RB’s get carries doesn’t work.

Lol at anyone who thought Huard would start over Morris

The 3rd spring practice of Sam’s career confirms this.

Possession wr. Hard worker. Great hands. Get ready for announcers to say”actually didn’t even play his sr year of high school” in every broadcast he contributes to on the field for the next 4 years. I fucking hate the media. Lazy pieces of shit. Except for you @voreldawg. You are great.
