Husky Jacks open thread [2021]

I swear this is Race Porter’s 6th or 7th year. Wasn’t he in the same class as Gaskin?

I suppose eternal life is not just granted to our Race, but to all Races

Did Kyler Gordon not participate? Would've expected to see his name on a couple of those lists.

I would make a small wager that Gordon is what of the top 5-10 athletic kids in the country. I don't think he participated.

Do we know how many guys actually participated in this? I have a hard time believing Kirkland, Buelow, Wattenberg, Curnw, etc wouldn't make this top 5

That’s not good. Hama will have 10 guys at 415. Shit, I was benching 325 at 215lbs and 225. 25 times.

There was a time when our tailback benched over 400lbs. Not that maxing out is the end all be all. But it does show the lack of roids in the program.

Bench pressing takes time and training. Time and training that would distract from the hyperfocus on front squats. Do you even know what team you're following!?

Means nothing except for the younger players hitting milestones. The vets don't all participate in these things.

Or they made them do real reps, as a poster above alluded to. Not Twitter reps, where you're bouncing the bar so hard off your chest that you crack a rib and don't lock out at the top. Half the time I watch those videos of guys lifting and the caption is something like "30 reps!!!!" and in my head I'm counting, "Okay, that's four actual reps, where are the other 26?"
