Bob doesn't give up on players, whether they're good or not, and he probably rewards players trying their hardest, whether they're good or not. Bob probably didn't want to give up on Manu or Wellington and gave them more opportunities than they should've. Rather than making the obvious switch to Ulofoshio and giving someone else a chance, he kept them in for way too long and 2019 suffered. Probably was a factor on why Cam Eifler left, given that he was more talented than Myles Rice but was behind him in the depth chart in 2018.
Understood, but Timu’s write up on Bob had nothing to do with that.
Bob has definitely been one of, if not the most adverse to playing young talent and possibly playing favorites. Azeem in 2014 behind Constantine and Lawyer as the top subs, Ulo in 2019, and Sirmon seemingly has a strong grip on a starting role now despite playing poorly.

Perhaps. Though Milo Eifler never played the same position as Rice.

I'm reading between the lines about what we've seen from ILB, the ILB who have transfered out (Ngata and Eifler) and how Timu wrote that post instead of what he wrote in it (and to a lesser extent, what he wrote for Bob versus everyone else).
I think we had speculated on what you wrote above, but the post really solidifies it for me.
I should've referenced 2017 when he was behind Manu and Ngata, but he was behind Rice in spring 2018 when he transitioned to SAM. He portaled after that spring camp and Ngata portaled soon after.

In reading some shit, it feels like the kid was likely shown the door as he would’ve been displaced by brown or Thompson. No sure how this changes things but a projected title from a shit Twitter handle is the most positive news coming in a little so I’ll take it.

When Brown announced he was returning, it was almost certainly a sign that Mario told him he would start if he returned. Shough clearly recognized this.
Where things will get interesting is if Brown doesn't perform well in spring and one of their younger guys gets reps, he'll be on the first flight out of Eugene. Then Oregon would have 2 RS freshmen (one of whom is supposedly terrible in Ashford) and the true freshman

Don't forget Jay Butterfield who is talent wise like Shough was recruited by Arroyo and Taggart. My guess is Oregon has only 2 QB at this time next year.

Yeah. I'm guessing that it will be Brown and then the freshman an Butterfield leaves. If Mario starts giving more attention to his shiny new toy, I wouldn't be surprised if Brown takes off after spring
