Husky Jacks open thread [2020]

Pass protection has been great so far. Morris’ best skill so far has been his movement in the pocket. He steps up and moves around when needed. Eason would have been sacked more than once. Allowing one sack in 3 games is good shit. It’s a team effort and has been fun to watch.

Yeah, I've been really impressed with his pocket presence. He doesn't get skittish like Eason and Browning did. He moves really well and is great at pulling the trigger when he should. He has all the attributes of a guy who will continue to get better and better.

I’m bullish on Morris despite some bad throws and decisions because of his movement. I posted a few days ago that pocket presence is something QB’s either have or they don’t have. It only gets marginally better. There is an art to it and certain rhythm the good QB’s all have. Morris looks to have it.

Jimmy said the lone sack was actually a scramble out of bounds that lost yards so he actually hasn't been sacked in the pocket yet.

It's nice having a QB with that instinctive ability to move and dodge in the pocket without the play breaking down. UW hasn't had one for a while. Browning and Eason in particular did not have that skill.

He's also weirdly good at throwing when scrambling to his left.

Yep, only lost like a yard or two. Could have thrown it away and have zero sacks on the year.

Noticed that too.

He's no Derek Zoolander that's for sure

Yeah really good and man is that helpful. Hes able to turn his hips to the right while running left and has the strength to throw hard with a short arm motion. It reminds me of Locker who was also very good at that.

He gets a lot of velocity on those throws. The game winning TD to Otton was not only fast but also in front of Otton where he had to go get it. The defender was tailing Cade and if that ball was on his body or a touch behind its possibly knocked away.

Amazing placement on a ball that was thrown while running away from your dominant side.

Does anyone know if Tuli’s been listed as a starter going back to the OSU game? I’d look but nachos are ready.

Would love to see more Tuli and Tuitele and less Bronson. Bronson has been ok but he's very limited for a guy his size and age

Without looking at it super close, my impression of Bronson is inconsistent. He'll play 1/3 great, the rest no so much.
