Curious that Murao, who some on here were insistent would be the starter from day one, isn't even on the two deeps. I, for one, am relieved, because if an 18 year old OL is starting you've got problems.

I thought he would have a chance. That said, we pump up true freshman to start every year and they rarely do. We overrated players we know nothing about in our recruiting classes every year.

While I tend to agree that most of the depth chart announcements are window dressing and Lake has wanted to be super secretive about the Cal game, I think Cook starting might be legit.

He is a talented kid and was a good safety in high school. And while most the players have been twatting game week, he’s the only one who poasted himself with game week. Could be proud of winning the starting gig, or I could be reading entirely too much into it.

I predicted big things for Cook as a receiver and liked him better than the guys he came in with. I dont do this for a living but I still apologize to my fan for the misinformation.

I'm hopeful he really has won a stsrting or at least major role as a DB. He's fast and didn't need to gain any size or weight to be a solid safety. It was just a matter of an already good player needing to raise his play at a position he hadn't played for a couple of years but wasn't new to.
 
If I remember correctly Biggins was big on Cook as a safety much more so than as a WR when he was still considering UCLA and Oregon.

And then he picked UW and he changed his toon and said he sucked...

Cook probably starts, but I would be surprised if Irvin & Cam didn't play. Kyler and Dom too, DB rotation will be interesting.

I wouldn't worry about Kamari being the starter, we know all 4 of them will get snaps. And its nice to see Puka there but last year Ty Jones was on the depth chart half the year even though we knew he was out, so it can only be trusted so much.

Also, how many backup special teamers are on scholarship now? I've lost count.
 
Ugh. I haven't thought about Eason in awhile, but now I'm really dissapointed we didn't get another season with him. He wasn't great last year, but I would feel so much better about this team if he was our QB.
