Husky Jacks open thread [2020]

And, like Petersen in 2006, Lake has made some nontraditional hires. The flashy pick for offensive coordinator would have been Joe Moorhead or Mark Helfrich or Todd Monken or Chip Long, not Jacksonville Jaguars assistant running-backs coach John Donovan. The flashy pick for defensive-backs coach would have been Cal’s Gerald Alexander, not Vanderbilt’s Terrence Brown. The flashy pick for tight-ends coach would have been former UW quarterback and current Cal tight-ends coach Marques Tuiasosopo, not Husky offensive analyst Derham Cato.

On paper, these were risky hires. They might also be the right ones.

The common denominator, it seems, is that Lake hired people with plenty left to prove.

I prefer people who have already shown they're good at their jobs rather than those with "plenty left to prove" but that's just me

If I wanted that kinda negativity I’d go to BDTW

What's up with you fags and the Seinfeld references? While the cool crowd was out banging beaver at parties on campus, you maroons were safe at home with your other cuntless friends watching and memorizing lines from Seinfeld on thursday nights (then recite them the next day after class with same said friends). Then after everybody went home, you'd crank up an episode of "friends" when nobody was watching. You know who you are. You still post stupid little Seinfeld youtube clips here every thread. Get over it already. No wonder you chimps are 40 and still single.

My best and only hope for Donovan was that he'd be a cipher, implementing and executing Kwat and Lake's will on offense. If this is true, and Donovan is to lead us into a brave new offensive world with his own wits and guile alone, I'm left only with misery and pathos.

LIPO, indeed.

Doesnt the general narrative out there go that Donovan was fucking awesome at Vandy but then sucked when Franklin stepped in and took away his full control of the offense at PSU?

He was never awesome at Vandy. His offenses were never in the top 60, but he was serviceable. He was terribad at Penn St.

Yes, but also it’s fucking Vandy. He did set their yards and points records while there. Which was just 30 a game, so of course that keeps them from being a top offense.

But in the SEC, against SEC defenses, with Vandy talent..... are we not considering that successful?
