Husky Jacks open thread [2019]

Apparently Bush said to Fain that “maybe the outside noise wasn’t wrong” in regards to playing Puka earlier.
¿da fuq? Source?

Yesterday's Softy show. Dick Fain usually has interviews with players or coaches throughout the week. I usually don't listen to those because I find coach speak boring as shit.

But on the regular show as they were going into a Husky segment, they started it with Fain saying that when he talked with Bush this week, that Bush gave him the quote above.

I guess I'd have to hear the quote itself in context to know where Hamdan was busting balls. But on its own, for me that's bad.

Read the article on Westover in the Seattle Times. He’s a really good athlete who got hurt in the 2nd game his senior year. He’s going to be good. I said last game, I would bet money he ends up being better than Culp.

I'll bet you money that Sark is better than Willingham.

Fuck @GrundleStiltzkin, you're really making me work for it. I didn't hear the actual interview, just the reference from Dick about it. But I went out and found it for you, and listened, and transcribed.

Everything you need below. I don't think it was Hamdan busting balls. He was being honest:

Questions about why this was the week for Puka to get so many snaps at 17:45.

"We felt it was time. We felt it was time to give guys some more chances. I don't think, uh, you know, I don't think the outside noise is necessarily wrong. Right? I think, uh. You know we just kind of felt Stanford, it was, we need to get guys, more guys involved. And not give a couple of those guys as many of the reps as they do take."

TYFYS, @DoogCourics!

Jesus Fucking Christ, BushPete! Maybe you could put a guy like Puka out there during the Stanford game, when it was going shitty. Maybe putting in Haener against Cal last year has them gun-shy, but playing a couple of new receivers is not the same as putting in turnover shrimp at QB.

Who cares if he’s better than Culp? They’ll both ending up being good.

I fucking love Westover. S/O to his family.

The only thing culp has done is get in The dog house and then miss a easy block that cost us a touchdown vs BYU.
I don’t like where this is going so far. Hopefully he figures it out.

The early games should have been used to get Puka comfortable and ready to roll. The coaches know he can play. It was just strange how little they used him for reasons that don’t really make sense. He knows how to run 5 routes and block a CB or safety.

Does anyone want to explain how UCLAs shit defense can hold Stanford to less than 100 total yards halfway through the 3rd quarter....?

Also how did WE lose to Stanford? They look fucking awful against an awful UCLA

I trust[/s] hate our coaches.
