Husky Jacks open thread [2019]

From sleuthing on the UW football Instagram story... Wednesday was life scrimmage work at times, QBs were live too. Haener threw a awful interception to Myles Bryant, airmailed Cade Otton. You can see it if you go to their story.

His biggest problem is HE CANT SEE THE FIELD. Not only is he 5’10”, but because his arm isn’t great his base gets super wide when he throws which makes him even shorter and inaccurate at times. No joke, I would guess when he releases the ball his eyes are 5’0 off the ground because of this.

Good points, but can you tell who is holding the bags in this first one?

Get that bag holder a tryout.

Look at those strong fists. Excellent form. And look at how that bag explodes and knocks the ball carrier off balance- great power.

That’s Nick — a self-described “big ball of energy, bouncing around.”

That’s also what the 2019 Huskies need.

“With the stage that the offense is in and the competition that we have at quarterback, I’m usually the guy that brings the energy,” Harris said. “Because Jake Browning was that guy. He always brought the energy, and we fed off of him. [/i][/b]Since there’s a competition back there (at QB) and those guys are locked in on their competition and trying to wheel and deal and do their thing, I’ve got to be that guy to bring the energy to the offense — running around, yelling, dancing.

“On the field I’m locked in and just trying to get everybody on the ball and focused. I’ll take that. That’s my role, and I’ll run with it.”

I forget how pathetic and corny the program was under Sark. The craziest thing is that it was still an improvement from Ty.

(7-6) x 3 is greater than Owen12 I guess.

Here’s the last frame of that clip. Clearly #9.

Surprised that the social media team publicly released clips of TWO Haener interceptions after it seemed like they were trying so hard all spring/fall to highlight his better throws.

Game participation for defensive freshmen in 2018 is interesting, because it lets us see how the coaches plan to use players in their 4 games and how we might use it for some of the freshmen destined for redshirts in 2019. For example, the LBs mainly played against North Dakota and OSU whereas the DBs played against Stanford and Utah. The game with the most true freshman playing last year was Wazzu with 6.

LB Sirmon played against North Dakota, OSU, Wazzu, and tOSU. Really didn't see important playing time until the end of the season, but got some experience at the beginning of the year against ND.
LB Tafisi was similar to Sirmon, and was in the North Dakota, OSU, and Wazzu games. Not surprising to see him in similar games to Sirmon.
LB Ulofoshio played against OSU, Wazzu, and tOSU. Probably the highlight of all the true freshman last year with 2 forced fumble against OSU.
LB ZTF played in only 2 games, North Dakota and tOSU. Interesting to see 3 LBs play in the Rose Bowl, though they were probably only on special teams.

DB Gordon appeared against Oregon, Stanford, Wazzu, and Utah. All quality opponents and important games.
DB Irvin was on the field against Cal, Stanford, Wazzu, and Utah. Irvin was the second of the true freshman to play in 2018.
DB Hampton came on toward the end of last year, playing against Stanford, OSU, Wazzu, and Utah. Interesting to see all the true freshman DB play against Stanford, Wazzu, and Utah, especially when Utah was as close as it was.

DL Taimani was only in against OSU. Was the only true frosh to play last year.

If I had to guess, true freshman that aren't on the field against EWU or Cal (and probably going to play the whole season) will likely play in 3-4 games toward end of the year and even against some quality opponents like Utah, Wazzu, the Pac-12 CCG, and bowl game.

For all we know, Eason still hasn't thrown a pick yet while Haeny is nearing a dozen. Let's wrap this shit up because it's not even close and a waste of time.
