The corners and DL are going to be amazing. Gordon and Hampton seem to be locked in a battle for the one side. I think Gordon is a freak and biund to star on this defense at some point. If Hampton can hold him off, and Taylor is better than both as I'm getting the feeling he is, then holy shit.

The DL is reloaded too...no longer any concern. The redshirt frosh are beasts. They're ready.

I think next year we will have our best DB grouping we’ve ever had. If the young class of LB’s we signed this year is as good as advertised, next year could be the best defense we’ve had in a long time. The talent on all 3 levels is absurd.

Too early for the true frosh LB's to make a huge impact. 2020 defense will be special. Real talk.

I meant 2020 when I said next year. LB’s from this class need at least a year. Even if they are so-so, we’ll have an insane D. Gordon, Hampton, Irvin, and Taylor, if he stays (I think he could leave) at CB/S, and Molden at nickel is crazy talent. Cam, McDuffie, and Asa as RS frosh. The line is set with our two previous classes. We just need Calvert, Hammer, and Sirmon to step up and anything less than a top 5 D in the country is a disappointment.

Isnt Tafisi supposedly a stud too? The LB group is going to be really strong. Gregory is a good coach and a good enough recruiter, I'm a fan. Get the guy away from special teams though

I'm not sure why people think Ahmed is going to suddenly develop the requisite RB instincts needed to excel. The guy has no feel for reading blocks and is not going to become an effective inside runner after two years of showing no ability to do so. I have a lot more confidence in one of McGrew, Pleasant, or Dick becoming an every-down back than I do Ahmed. He's a total weapon, but he's limited.

I'm not sure and I get the doubt because I saw him play

My only hope is that we stop handing him the ball 7 yards deep on a fly sweep that everyone is waiting on.

Calvert batted away Yankoff’s pass attempt two plays later, and the series ended with Newton’s touchdown run.

- Sirmon was behind center for two series, completing two of his four pass attempts, and his first throw was nearly intercepted by Gilchrist, and his second series ended with a bad snap recovered by outside linebacker Joe Tryon.

- Gilchrist sacked both Eason and Yankoff from his nickel position.

- Potato continues to disrupt plays in the backfield, twice busting through the offensive line for an easy sack of the quarterback.

- I have a feeling opposing teams are going to continue to struggle to get anything accomplished when throwing into the flats against UW’s defense. Elijah Molden, who continues to play nickel with the No. 1 group, seems to swallow up anything thrown near the line of scrimmage, and made a particularly impressive play Wednesday on a completion by Eason to Andre Baccellia. Molden beat Hunter Bryant’s block attempt and forced a 3-yard loss on the play.

- Likewise, junior cornerback Keith Taylor doesn’t allow many passes to be completed in his area, and seems to bring a physical presence to his position, too.

- Cameron Williams busted into the backfield to drop Eason for a loss and successfully sniffed out a fly sweep to Chico McClatcher on the play after.

- Peyton Henry, who made all five of his attempts during 11-on-11 action — two from 35 yards, one from 30, one from 27 and the last from 33.

- No changes to any of the first-team personnel groupings on either side of the ball, save for the typical frequent rotation up front.

Cam Williams is gonna be amazing.

I'm just thankful Oregon didn't want him anymore.

RB has been probably the quietest position group this spring, which is concerning given that Gaskin is no longer back there.

RB is always quiet because we don’t do much live work. I think we have enough to do well, but we shall see. There’s no sure fire guy, but I think if Salvon takes the next step he can be sensational.

If Ahmed can run between the tackles, I think we'll be fine, but he struggled against better defenses last year (Cal, tOSU, Utah, and Utah).

In our 1 game without Gaskin last year, Pleasant had most of our carries and was most effective, but I don't see him being our #1. Maybe Cam Davis?

Salvon showed extremely high levels of speed and elusiveness last year when running towards our own end zone. If we can teach him to run forwards he will be awesome
