We mostly did. Ahmed scored a long TD on 4th and 1. Other than the drops we played pretty well against a good defense. Those drops cost us at least 7, if not more.

Not that we could not lean on them, Bush Hamdan refused to do so. They were moving people fine, but you need to commit to running the ball
 
Can't remember who fucking said it, but someone today said something about Petersen mentioned that if he could he would want to get the young guys in earlier in the game.

He also apparently said they always want to get them in for reps, but they are always wary of putting guys in and then mistakes happening and the other team getting momentum and mounting a comeback.

“We want to get guys into the game. Sometimes you’re competing and you know and we throw an interception right at the end of the third quarter and gave up an easy touchdown and all those things. That game, with all the things that happened there, those are all the things that are in our mind. It’s not over. Can our second (string players) play? Heck yeah, they can. You and I agree for a rare instance. UWs line will ultimately win against any team in the conference, even Cal.

Problem is, Petersen is so fucking in love with the QB position and being a foxy outsmarting adversary that he refuses to bully teams. Given the choice between mauling and finesse, Petersen choices finesse every time.

Petersen is enamored with Kellen Moore and Jake Browning types, would call a WR screen 81% of the time if he could, and probably falls asleep to the 2007 Fiesta Bowl highlights every night.

Hyperbole aside, Petersen does not have a grind it out mentality or a commitment to tough nosed running. He just doesn't. He is always trying to outfox opponents.

Idk if playing in the NFL means you're a good player. For example, Marvin Hall has been in the NFL for 4 years but his career stats at UW are 25 catches, 409 yards and 1 TD. He averaged 6 catches and 102 yards per season. He also threw for more TDs than he caught.
