What? GIF is an acronym also, for graphics interchange format. Just because graphics is a hard G doesn't mean the acronym has to be pronounced that way. Also, gin, ginger, gingerly, giraffe, George, Gillette, Geranamo, Germany, Georgia, giblets, vagina, gesticulate, etc.
