Huard sells the couch

That's too bad. Would have been fun if he was good enough

National Top 25 prospect according to the savants at 247 Sports yet couldn't dislodge the limited Dylan Morris from the backup job.

Pretty sure the coaches saw enough to know what Huard could or couldn't do (at this point anyway). The reports that he was slow to grasp the offense (hello, Jacob Eason) were a concern, particularly because Sam's size and athletic ability aren't elite.

Credit to DeBoer and Grubb for not caving in to any pressure — whether from his family ties or recruiting pedigree — and putting Huard above Morris on the depth chart if he hadn't earned it.

Be interested to see where Sam ends up. Seems like he might have a school in mind since he's portaling now instead of waiting to go though spring practice and see what opens up elsewhere?

Show some respect! That's top 247 recruit limited backup Dylan Morris.

He's just going out for a year of cross training Germie Bernard style. He'll be back after the (sun lamp) light bulb comes on and come back tanned rested and ready.

Not surprising and I think this was the obvious outcome once you read that Morris is happy to be the backup and be groomed (no homo) for coaching in the future.

I'm not gonna crap on him or talk smack about his ability because he was still a 5* commit who bucked the trend of leaving WA for tOSU. And he did it while Lake was the coach. On second thought, maybe he has a decision-making problem.

There was talk this season that the 2nd best qb on the team, in the eyes of the coaches, was a freshman walk on

Which one?

Hopefully this dude.https://gohuskies.com/sports/football/roster/camdyn-stiegeler/14984

I thought Huard was going to be a rich man's Kellen Moore. yikes. Y'all can have Ty Thompson.

Agree. I don't hate him

Local recruits should know that if they don't make it we won't wish broken limbs on them like that asshole Keinholtz

Not the kids fault he was born in UW greatness - just didn’t have the tools to keep up.

I went to the first open spring practice under Jimmy, I remember a group of frat boys chanting from a few rows above “we want Sam” during practice - mind you, this is right after the covid season.

I didn’t get it, he looked bad. I hope those guys realize that Morris has nuts even though he sucks, Huard has neither nuts nor talent.

Morris beat the conference champions in embarrassing fashion. And won the North and had Nick Scody and 46X crying.

Greatness is thrown around very loosely there. Brock and Damon were avg to slightly above avg qb’s. I thank them for their service but it’s the truth.

I thought Brock would be great and in fairness his supporting cast his jr year wasn’t very good and the scheme was worse.

Who would of guessed a few years ago that a guy named Penix would be leading us to the promised land and not Huard? I wish Huard the best, seems like a really good kid, it's too bad. Maybe it's best in long run, he doesnt have to follow in anyone's footsteps and can get back to playing football with no pressure

I trust DeBoer and Grubb. Huard got ZERO time against Colorado. Very telling IMHO. Sunday got a couple snaps in that game. Sam just wasn't the guy. Another example of a 7v7 qb not translating to the actual game.
