Huard looks great

we? would have done much better if we? just played Morris and he threw all his passes out of bounds. Just run the damn ball!
 
It’s not like our savior Ty Thompson exactly tore it up during his snaps this year. His tape against CU would be great material for every QB coach to show their QB’s what not to do in a game. I’m all for kicking these leg jumpers while they’re down, but our ‘next big thing’ at QB couldn’t beat out the only QB worse the Dylan Morris.
 
Theres alot of potential there. He played poorly over all but at least he threw a few nice passes that Morris can't throw. I still hold out hope

This doesn't mean I'm giving up on him. I'm trying to withhold judgment until he gets a year under competent coaching. But from what we've seen so far, he doesn't have a commanding presence on the field, he has a nice arm on the long balls, he locks onto receivers, and his lack of touch under pressure is concerning.

He was also making some very poor choices out there. Sure, not many reps this year, but it’s not exactly his first year of football. Has he regressed under this staff?

I haven’t watched him enough to really judge, but if he was really good he would be playing. Guys develop at different rates but yeah, almost every fan base pumps up the young back up QB and most of them end up sucking.

Better yet just take a knee on every down, run the clock, and punt. Closer game for sure.

The receivers didn’t help much. He has a good sense of pressure. He stepped up into the pocket a few times.

I thought Huard looked fine when they finally opened up the offense and stopped running the ball on 1st and 2nd down or throwing stupid bubble screens.

If his receivers could have helped him out even a little bit he finishes the game likely with 2 TD's, 2 picks a couple hundred yards and it doesn't look as bad. But holy shit Odunze, McMillan and Culp really left the poor fucker out to dry. Not to mention the lovely blocking effort by Culp and Pleasant on a double team block that caused one of the picks.

Right now Morris is better than Huard.

One is a True Freshman, one is a RS Freshman.

Morris could be a fine college QB with an average OL and some coaching.

I haven’t seen enough from Huard to say anything positive.

Huard can actually connect on a throw 15 yards down field. The whole team + coaching staff that he was surrounded with gave him as little help as possible, and he unsurprisingly stunk up the joint. He now sucks until proven otherwise.

But Morris is fucking done. He has a large body of work that demonstrates how hopeless he is, and there's no way in hell he should ever suit up again.

Huard already knows how to escape defenders in his face better than Morris.

Which is not saying much.
