How to avoid looking at annoying signature gifs

imo the default for lurkers/non-registered people should be sigs non-viewable. the 1997 netscape navigator signatures aren't going to help user growth lol. let the dudes who want them turn them on and play in the sandbox amongst themselves.

My thoughts on sigs so far. I set them to "off" on mobile and "on" for desktop. While broadband has caught up enough to make bandwidth no longer an issue I find that scrolling through the extra shit is too much on mobile. I'm also on mobile a lot more than desktop so it's almost like a nice bonus when on desktop to see them and keeps things from getting tiresome. I'd agree they should be a "members" only thing as they are more for us and less for the website/lurkers. After everyone gets their sigs dialed in a popularity tourney is definitely needed.

If you have a registered account, you're automatically a member. You're just not a donator is all. But you're not a lurker.
