First time one of those 2 conferences gets a team left out, the playoffs will become 12 best teams regardless of conference.

I get that people don't like this take because it's not the "winner" mentality, but this is probably the best hand for UW to play at this point. Could be a big win in the short-term if UW can make the playoffs a few times in the next 5-6 years because that would probably get them moved up the food chain and into the Big 10.

If it comes to that, and DeBoer pulls it off, he is at least Dawgfather 2.0 at that point. Possibly slightly ahead due to overall impact on the program's future.

I'm afraid you're probably right that UW and Oregon need to have a little patience and play the longer game. Nothing is static that's for sure. It could be that the way into the inevitable NFL light alignment comes a couple years down the road.

When the door opens they better be at least as cutthroat as SC and UCLA and drop the rest of these retard programs like a sack of shit.

Most people have never been out of the PAC for games. The PAC has declined significantly from the 90’s. Even Pitt had more people at their games. Compared to the Big 10, the PAC is a joke.
So yes take the auto bid, recruit and use NIL resources. If Gonzaga and Boise State have taught us anything it’s live large and shine, shine above and beyond competition. Most likely Oregon and Washington will be on ESPN and Fox. Who cares about Cal, Stanford and Washington State. Let them be streamed
