Oh, and the 5 rules of managing a good set of alts:
1. Never be the first poster to give a chincredible to the post of another account of yours. This is where most alts fail.
2. If one of your alts hangs out in The Tug, let that be the only alt that hangs out there. Unless you let a lot of time pass. This where the 2nd most common reason most alts fail and are obvious. Especially when combined with failing rule #1.
3. If you have multiple personality disorder, don't even try to manage multiple alts.
4. Actually, ignore rule #3. Those are probably the most convincing alts.
5. Don’t use the same password for multiple alts. While the mods can’t crack your password, it is easy to see if two passwords are the same because they will have the same encrypted hash. Not that the mods here are smart enough to know that.
