Few teams get to back-to- back superbowls. Seattle is going to take a big hit with all these rookie contracts coming due. Do all the ignorant bitches with their cute little hawk cheek tattoo's and Russell Wilson jerseys understand that the hawks will stink soon, and they won't have 12tard parties every weekend to dress up for and that their lives will return to normal? Back to the dog park on Saturday's and church on Sunday's. Getting all dressed up and cutesy on Sundays is over after next Sunday. Back to getting fat and ugly on pizza, collard greens and fried chicken and cheeseburgers. Or for the illegal immigrant 12's, arroz con pollo and guacamole, or chili Colorado and homemade tortillas.

Your husband's will still enjoy football but Mexican illegals like Yomira Rodriguez and Emilia Hernandez , and their 5 kids respectively will be back to loading up the SUV on 21's, and crowding local Walmarts. Seattle has a great GM and a coach who is phenomenal at developing talent. They will certainly suffer some salary cap casualties, but there is good reason to think they'll be able to supplement it well. I will be very surprised if Seattle "sucks in three years".
 
I don't follow the free agency and salary cap stuff because its boring, but it seems like they could have pretty big window. They're not going to win 12 or 13 games every year, but I don't see them folding in two or 3 years either.

Dunno if they're hosed on salary or not. Browners likely gone, same with Sydney Rice, possibly Golden Tate. They can find more cheap low round talent to fill the roster for cheap.
 
You're the man Puppy, but I don't think they will suck in 3 years. They have a lot of money that will be freeing up soon to re-sign guys like Sherman, Thomas, and Wilson. Right now, they are paying big money to some pretty marginal contributers (Rice, Miller, Bryant, possibly Unger and Mebane). Not to mention, they have talented players they can trade for draft picks to save money, but not have too steep of a drop off in talent. If they chose to sell high on Sherman or Thomas, they could get at least 1 first round pick, if not 2. Carroll and Schneider know what the fuck they are doing. I'm afraid the 12's are here to stay for longer than 3 years.

How about when lynch breaks down? Then we have no running game for our qb to lean on, then our D gets worn out game after game. We're fucking done after this. Wildcard-Divisional playoff exit next year, maybe year after then it's rebuild large portions of the team while clinging to the parts that still function. I don't even give a shit, because Husky Football is finally back since god knows when.

The simple part is that Seattle has quite a few guys on rookie contracts that they're paying basically to. When those are up (I believe Sherman this year and Wilson next year among others) they're going to have to shell out big money which means they won't have the money to sign better players elsewhere. Look what happened in Baltimore. They gave Flacco way too much money because you can't lose a good/decent QB in the NFL and then lost a ton of talent in the process because they couldn't afford to pay them.

Mebane is the most underrated and best players on our defense, but agree with the rest including Unger. His backup has played just as well/better than him when in. Earl Thomas is a must to re sign, probably Sherman too. The key for continued success will be can PC/JS continue to draft these young players who come in and contribute (and do it very well).

I think RW takes some sort of home town discount, he will still get a huge contract but I don't think it will be like a Flacco one that fucks your team in the long run.

Mebane is good, but he only plays about half the snaps and is getting paid 5 million a year. Right now, he is valuable and fits, but when you need to free up money, you have to make choices.

You can get a player of 80% of Mebane's ability for half the cost.

The whole team is deep though. They did fine any time a key player was injured. Clemons is an easy cut at 9 million too. Avril is here for another year, and they can play Irvin at DE for Bryant in passing situations. I would love for Michael Bennett to be re signed (our best DL), but I bet he will get a huge contract from someone else and Wilson, Sherman, and Thomas will be the priorities.

True (I do know the basics of the situation, I just don't know specific numbers, the entire 53 man roster & their salaries, contracts etcetera... It is boring just writing it or saying it into my phone).

Schneider seems to be a pretty good GM. I think there are ways to loosely follow some of the teams that have had long periods of sustained success, I.e. the Patriots and Colts mainly. They win 10 + games almost every year.
