How Hard is UW's Schedule in 2026?

Eastiest

1. Eastern Washington - Easy W - I used to be scared shitless of playing the Eags and hated scheduling them because you were playing a team that was a ton of local guys who dreamed of a UW offer but seems like they are dead.

2. Utah State - Easy W - Seems like this program has sucked for years now.

3. Coug - Easy W - They should be significantly shittier this year and we beat them by like 30 in Pullman last year.

4. Minnesota - W - I know very little about this team right now but they feel like the kind of team this kind of UW team beats in Seattle by 10+.

5. at Purdue - W - I could see this being a little trickier on the road and like a Maryland game if Purdue improves, but still 10+, no excuses.

6. Iowa - W - The first game I think should approach challenge territory. They lost a massive amount from last year and the last couple years though and are the type of team UW should beat in Seattle, no problems.

7. at Michigan State - W, but the first I'm worried about - This is a trap game like Wisconsin last year - November in East Lansing against a team that should improved and a historically tough program. It's surrounded by big games.

8. at Nebraska - W, but a challenge - I might be more worried about Sparty actually. There's nothing on paper to be scared about here other than name brand and being on the road. We also have a bye before it.

9. Penn State - W, another trap game though - Penn State coming all the way out here and getting a win with the projected team they have doesn't seem likely but Campbell brought a lot of experienced try hards with him so you have to be careful.

10. at USC - W, if we're any good - This is a good early litmus test. This isn't the USC of old. They're somewhat talented but soft and this isn't a big homefield advantage. Big show me game for Judd.

11. Indiana - Expected L, but murky - Indiana has a nice chunk of good players from last year returning with good portal additions and Cig. They're the kind of team UW hasn't been able to stay with yet under Judd, but they have question marks and are coming across the country in November.

12. at Oregon - Expected L, hard to predict otherwise - This is a tough one and makes Demond and Judd fucking the dawg against a beatable Oregon team at home last year even more frustrating.

NOC but @flatus called the @MSU game in an earlier thread the most likely "trap" game on the schedule. The late season ET trip, likely bad weather, and looming matches against objectively viril opponents makes this my choice for the brownsocks game of the year.

Serious question: who is QB #2 and can UW handle losing Demond?

All of our backup QBs are basically Demond
 
QB is what to watch at Indiana. They shouldn't be as strong as they were in 2025 and we've seen a lot of these veteran transfer QBs just be ok and if their TCU guy is that they are potentially beatable in Seattle.

I don't think QB will be Indianas undoing. Cigarette is 2-2 in transfer QB's. Mendoza was good not great at Cal, Rourke was a very good MAC QB for years. Both exceeded their previous level of play by quite a lot in the Indiana system. Hoover turned the ball over a lot at TCU but had moments of brilliance that outshone anything either Rourke and Mendoza had accomplished at their previous stops. He's a nice piece of clay to mold. My worry with them is they lose the plucky Indiana players left over from the former coach that stuck it out through losing years and the JMU transfers that had a mountain sized chip on their shoulders. They have big time transfers coming in to replace something that was completely crazy and special. Those are the guys that need wear a crown they didn't earn. If anyone can get them to do it it's probably the Cancer Man but until it happens I'm curious to see how it all unfolds.

Giant floating inflatable 🦆 in Indianapolis is a big deal to these people.
 
I do love rainbows but so far it doesnt sound like we have a running game and are looking for an outside receiver (s). I think we have the recievers, and a short QB that gets exposed and fails to make big plays vs tough teams. Without a high quality running game to force a balanced defense, this could be an 8-4 uninspired season even though it sounds like we have a good defense.

A good QB with a big time arm that can take apart a defense and give the running game time to develop would elevate this team, but we don’t have that. Its not that i hate our QB, im just saying his limitations along with our holes are too much to overcome to have a contending team.

The offensive line is the best Judd has had at UW. The defense is the best that Judd has probably ever fielded as a head coach. Those two things we can all probably agree on. The line should help out the running and passing game early until WR and RB rotations and rolls are defined. Stats are for losers say It also probably doesn't matter who catches the passes, someone will be open enough to make the catches in this offense. The numbers prove it. Doesn't matter who's running the ball in this offense either. It generates pretty consistent numbers no matter if the team is average (2022 Arizona 5-7, 2024 UW 6-7) or not (2021 Arizona 1-11). Scott Graham finds guys that can carry the ball. 2023 Arizona had 4 guys, none TBS superstars, that all ran with a "fuck you" attitude. I would have killed for that group at UW. By comparison the Huskies in 2023 had Dillon Johnson and a rapist and that was it. Dorian Singer put up amazing numbers at Arizona, took the portal to USC and was immediately a JAG. Giles Jackson was a JAG at UW for years and had a pretty great senior season, on a mediocre team in Judds offense. Dez Roebuck showed up for fall camp as a true freshman and consistently made plays in this offense. Whatever you want to say about Judds play calling, and I'm kinda there with most of you, I guess what I'm saying is that the catches and the rushes will be there this year because they're always there in this offense. Whether it's Williams, Carr, Bonner, Limar, Sanoe or Washington, they will rush for between 135 and 165 yards per game. Passing the ball whatever the combo is, they will all catch between 245 and 300 yards per game. It all comes down to if you believe Judd when he says Williams has gotten better. If he has, 10-2 is right there for them. If he's the same pants shitting midget then 9-3 is the cap for this program until he decides to leave. It's all on the QB, end of discussion. I think the kid has probably gotten better enough to get UW to that 10 win mark.

My top levels of concern about the roster right now are:

1. A QB who tops out as a guy who is good against 75% of the teams but can't do much of anything against the better third.
2. Limitations of big play guys are RB & WR to take some pressure off and make things easier for QB.
3. Lack of pass rushers

The improvement of O line each year has been noteworthy, esp giving Demond tim in the ass. Add the strong run game (see vs Oregon 2025) and this offense will shine in most games.

There's little excuse for the road woes outside of Jedd and Co being Stay-Puft soft. If that shit happens again, I'll love it, but all road games outside of Eugene are winnable. No excuses.

I'm looking forward to excuses. But I won't be surprised either way, tbh.
