A wise, annoying man with a Gilby avatar once said of Petersen, "Dan Hawkins until proven otherwise." After the game, this is still true.

Annoying like a gadfly? Or annoying like a hot-iron to the nuts?

I'm still looking for anything from peterman or the staff on why they didn't use the timeouts at end of game - seems everything is fixated on the cooper fumble which I can probably see either side on

If the answer truly is "we had so little confidence in our offense that there was no use in giving ourselves even a remote chance" (which is the only rationale which remotely makes sense) then it's hard not to start thinking Dan Hawkins like that Gilbey avatar dude said

Petersen puts a lot of faith in his assistants, and for the most part, that formula worked at BSU. Except every year, two or three BCS schools would raid his staff and take their assistants. It happened every year and finally, Petersen started to run out of these good assistants.

Petersen still puts a lot of faith in his assistants, but it's not working with these coaches or it's not working at this level. Petersen really needs to take control of this team as a head coach and make the decisions a head coach should.

The honeymoon is over.

Go hire back the old assistants.

The thing that has been lost in all of this, is that everybody here predicted an easy win by Zona (including me). The exact opposite happened... UW had multiple turnovers... and was still ahead with 1:50 to go in the game.

Our offense was actually moving the ball (even though we also turned it over and failed to convert a FG and extra point) I would have never expected this. We were running. We were throwing.

I know, it sounds like a moral victory... but compared to yesterday... I still want to let it play out.
