Seventeen year old me votes for Boston...

Boston just feel like too much 70s schlock to my ears and hasn't held up as well. VH1 doesn't feel like it's aged in the least.

I'd vote for Boston over Rumors but probably take any other album in the tourney over it.

This one is a tough one because both albums are perfect. We’ll go Van Halen for the body of work.

Boston - Boston is a perfect record but it drew the album that completely changed rock guitar forever in round one

Boston was revolutionary when it came out, nothing else like it in 76. You had tight, clean Zeppelin-ish guitars over a strong bottom end, with upbeat, almost poppy vocals / harmonies, and lyrics that were more relatable to a 16 year old than the mystic, dark, satanic (maybe) stuff that dominated 70's hard rock up to then...the same can be said with VH1 in 78...they re-invented it, again...
