Hey guys how are your energy prices today??

Batteries for EVs and hybrids cost like $8,000.

I bought a decent one at Auto Zone in 2022 for like $220 or something. I left my hazard lights on by accident once and the AAA guy said it's still good.

Have fun when your battery goes out Bucky.

There’s zero chance he actually both the Lightning F150 because he’s a child LARPing here, but what an odd vehicle to brag about buying. I can’t think of a more worthless EV than a full-size pickup.

Played golf today with my buddy who owns a fuel distribution company. Said he’s making a shit ton of money right now. Said everyone is because they know the second the Strait opens up, which is going to be by late April at the latest, they all know that gas prices are going to plummet.

So good job Dems. Make sure to keep pointing out that fuel prices are set by the President. Gonna look great this summer.

Quit crying, Spaz, and start thanking Trump.

Another example of why taking down the leadership of Iran is critical for more than just the ME. At an instant they can shut down 20% of the global fuel supply by threatening any ship coming through the Straight.

Wanna fuckin bet?

Wanna know how my EV is going? Here’s been my cost to drive this thing the past 2 months:

$0

Oil can go to $200 for all I care

Oil at $200 will cause massive inflation and hurt those underprivileged people who you claim to want to protect from the evil billionaires.

Would you care to rephrase that last sentence?

Oil is only used for gasoline that goes in commuter cars POTD.

$0 if you drove 0 miles or are charging at some publicly subsidized charging port. BTW, the cost is not $0 when you factor in your massive depreciation and other running costs like tires.

1) I bought solar panels awhile back that covers my home electricity and my EV. I passed the break even point this year

2) Tires is the only disadvantage EVs have. There’s no oil changes. Dealerships hate them because they can’t continue to milk you and have your bring them in for maintenance

3) fuckkkk depreciation. I’m doing what I normally do….drive it into the ground. If you guys are buying cars as an investment it explains why the average American’s net worth is pathetic.

They should listen to me when I give advice for them to help themselves, well in advance….just like this board.

Didn't say anything about a car being an investment. You need to amortize the cost of that truck over the lifespan to be honest about your operating costs, though. Obviously the running costs for an EV are cheaper than ICE, but the cost of entry for a like-for-like model is typically much higher for an EV.

I would love to see your math on the solar and breaking even. I priced that out multiple times and the equipment and labor couldn't be paid back by electricity savings for upwards of 15 - 20 years. Maybe you live in the desert or something.

Trump killed the 30% federal solar credit and many states also have additional tax and rate payer home solar subsidies. That's how some solar penciled out, especially in high sun areas. The western Pacific Northwest states are shitty for solar. Might pencil out on June 21st on a bright sunny day. Doesn't pencil out on December 21st on a cloudy rainy day with long nights and a weak low horizon sun. Home solar has subsequently collapsed because it never made economic sense for the vast majority of American homes.

That's entirely how solar penciled out.

That and the fact that most of the components were coming in from CHY-NA.
