Helfrich Sells His Couch

This guy has been right about everything, right up to the date Helfrich was getting the axe. He said the decision to fire Helfrich was made after the Cal game @TierbsHsotBoobs and It was pretty clear this weekend Helf knew what was coming. Former Oregon player with contacts in the program.

Big, if true.

81% it's Mora

Oregon AD Mullens just gave a presser. Wasn't kick ass, but most interesting answer was that "there are many branches to the Oregon coaching tree over the last 30 years and we may take a look at one of them."

Dirk Koetter is tanned and ready to get back into the PAC.

Helfrich is a truly decent guy, good human being, probably a fun guy to have a beer with. But not a great (or even very good) football coach. What this should tell you is that Oregon just spent $11.8MM on the buyout - which is a pretty good clue that there's a new coach already lined up.

Chip or Fleck, I'll be a happy duck.

I'd be happy with Fleck. Guy is a clown.

Fucker wins though.

Oregon needs to get TUFF anyway.

Chip Kelly and Helfrich were both offensive coordinators with no head coaching experience when they got the Oregon job.

i realize sling's job title was "offensive coordinator" but good lord, chipper ran that shit til the day he left.

Two names that fit the bill are Lincoln Riley and P.J. Fleck.

riley is 33 years old and "a disciple of mike leach." ill be the first motherfucker at eugene airport (with a cake and/or pie) if he's hired.

The way Nick Aliotti was forced out was wrong, he should come back and return his defense to average

Kelly 100% WILL be hired. I have a contact at Oregon that confirmed it. Contract negotiations are under way, it will be announced later this week.

Last step is figuring out the buyout with Notre Dame.

I saw rumors too, didn't see the flightaware though.

Hiring ND retreads after firing Gilby is always special.

This worries me, because Notre Dame's first call to replace Kelly would have to be Petersen. There's not many high profile coaches out there right now.
