Hardcore Husky Podcast: The Ohio State Game felt a little Sarky

UW basketball blows UW football out of the water for my thing of "shit that makes sense but somehow doesn't work" so we'll see if Sprinkle does anything. They had a front court of Spencer Hawes, Jon Brockman, and Quincy Pondexter and couldn't even make the NIT one year.
I loved that Sprinkle was in the zone talking to fans. He clearly cares.
I think people are going to be shocked at how good UW basketball is this year. Steinbach had a few plays at the fiba championships over the summer that were legit nba-ready skills.

I think UW basketball will finally break through. They have underwhelmed with NBA talent about 12 times now in the past 20 seasons though so I'm LIPO. Even when they've done well they've underachieved with what they've had.

Trying to think of the last time the Huskies didn't score a TD @ Husky Stadium, had to go into the record books:

Sark's 2nd year, a 41-0 obliteration at the hands of Stanford.

I'm not understanding the narrative of, "UW proved vs OSU that they can hang with the best teams in the nation." Right, losing by 18 at home as 7.5 dog and not getting in the endzone proves that.

This is true, but the DAWGS had chances and looked like they could hang physically, which was never, ever the case with Sark. Not even close.
Jedd play calling and the wefs were a brutal combo. Clean some things up. PGOS said preseason 9 wins this year is the floor and the playoffs in year 3 is a must.
Losing to #1 doesnt materially change that, even if it was disheartening and I lost $200 on the dumbass DAWGS. I put too much stock in that 22 game home streak.
Buckeye defense is insanely good. I have never seen a defense tackle like that. They got everyone down at first contact, always.
They even held the 5 star version of Sark with a legitimate DC in Kwat to 7. And it was a shutout until 4 minutes left in that one.

They are insanely good tacklers, I was blown away.

In summation, Ohio State looked like Ohio State out there, Groz.

Ohio State's Defense was physical and fast as f
I kept thinking as play started Demond and Jonah were like yea there's something here, and out of no where here comes a Buckeye ILB, and if by chance they could get away from him, there's a safety 1 step away ready to blow it up, and 2 steps from him is two more Buckeyes.

Well all the X bots think that Ohio State has the best edge, DL, and safety in the country after that game.
That guy that tracked demond down in the red zone can probably just call his agent and shut it down until draft day.

Breaking news: Ohio State had good players
Great pod pods. One sticking point. When Deboer left he took players to Bama. Not even our best cause those went to the NFL. Lesser point Belicheks needed UWs players in NC. But you say none or maybe 1 or 2 of UWs players would crack Ohio states starting lineup?
At the risk of doogin I'd say Boston, Taco, Demond, Coleman, Moore, Lane, McLaughlin and maybe Elenius Davis and Willis get significant play time on that team.
Thanks for taking my call appreciate the effort on the pod

It's a good point. We do have guys that would at least play at Ohio State. Your list isn't outrageous dooging outside of Elinneus Davis. I think they haven't loved their CBs in recent years and Prysock had the best game of his career easily and I was shocked to see he might have been in a little skirmish after the game.
Their OL might be really weak for a Buckeye line and may have been bailed out by us having a joke of a pass rush. Possibly RB too. Bo Jackson will be their next guy but he's a true freshman and they usually have 2-3 guys like that.

I think Coleman is the best rb in the country so he would absolutely be rb1 getting 20+ touches a game at osu.

Off topic, but wtf is going on with Makhi Hughes? We have a solid stable of RBs, but none who's so dominant that Hughes wouldn't even crack the top 4.
You have intel?

Maybe USC or TOSU wanted him and Oregon bought him just to keep him off their roster.
In reality I was kinda surprised an AAC RB was so sought after. You never truly know if you’re getting Cam Skattabo or Aaron Dumas who led New Mexico in rushing and thrashed DeBoers Fresno team but couldn’t crack a RB room of Wayne Taulapapa, Cam Davis and Will Nixon at UW before transferring out the next year. Crap shoot unless you’re buying a Judkins type transfer.

The enthusiasm after this loss is starting to border on the same hype that Sark got after losing at home to LSU.
PS - I didn't listen, in case this exact comment was made on the pod by one of the pods.

I’ll be more concerned if we don’t score in the 30’s against Maryland. It’s a big failure to not score a TD, but Ohio State has the best defense in the country. I get that the game was 24-6, but if we scored a TD when it was 1st and goal from the 3 and kicked a FG, the game probably would have gone to the wire.

We had not played anyone, but I don’t think the early season offense was a mirage. We were absolutely shit on the road last year. This week is a big test.

I don’t think he’s the best RB in the country, but he’s getting carries no matter what roster he is on.

The LSU game actually went through my mind while we were podding, but I never brought it up.
I remember commenting on Dawgman that everyone needed to remember that we lost the LSU game and it was not a victory, and whoa boy, an avalanche of criticism rained down upon me. Even Race Bannon chimed in that I must lead a miserable and pathetic life. (true story)
