And I don't think Judd is terrible and is probably at least a decent CEO/business type coach. I think bringing in Walters this year was a move someone like Jimmy would have never done or been able to do, but he's not good enough to not be locked in, and I'm impressed with zero of what I have seen as an offensive chess player and in-game coach.

I actually don't want to make light of the Boston injury stuff. In a day and age where college football players shut things down rather easily with injuries, he's playing through injury and clearly really gives a fuck, and he's local. Hopefully he keeps doing it the last 3 games.

The sark comparison was always obvious, but I tried to convince myself he’s smarter and less volatile, thus more capable…but it was definitely bullshit.

He is absolutely sark.

I kept trying to convince myself Judd could be at least a guy in some capacity. He's not. I don't think he's terrible, but I think he's just okay AND has his eyes around, wasting time and energy and focus trying to get an extension and flirting with a shitty job in the middle of a golden opportunity season.
Worst part is this schedule is so gifted we could have had a fake big season and we are also squandering a chance to beat a flawed Oregon team in Seattle.

When you put it this way, Judd must be absolutely distraught …
He had his golden opportunity here to "double pop" (AZ & again at UW) and it would have happened RIGHT when his dream job came open down in Gainesville!
He blew this bigly.

The question is, do the Arizona Cardinals or LV Raiders come calling? If he finishes 8-4 (with the win @ UCLA being key, never easy for UW for some reason), he can sell that he is a builder once he has his QB in there.

If he's going to leave, that would be ideal because he couldn't take players with him and UW would still get $10 million.
Then the question is who does Pat Chun hire as his own guy? Does he go after the Wake Forest coach he hired at WSU (forgetting his name)?

I hesitate to speculate on "who we should hire" as we'd probably be unhappy and have wanted to fire anyone I would have wanted.
I know nothing about who's out there and under the radar perhaps..
I really wasn't thinking much of Kalen when we got him, for that matter.

I just can't imagine an NFL coach seeing what Judd has done and thinking that's the guy. His calling card of offense has been shit anything other than at home against weak teams. What's the appeal. He was roommates with Howie Roseman?
Dickert is a good coach and a good talent ID guy - he actually got good players to WSU. He had such a weird hatred for UW though I don't see that working.
Cignetti was always an offense side guy so their DC would be interesting. Assume other jobs are looking though.

I don't like that Mullen fizzled at Florida, which is his only job that is comparable UW. Danielson isn't having a good year at a really easy program to win at. Looks like a guy who was a Jeanty merchant last year. I honestly don't know enough about Morris' schemes etc but don't love that this is his first big year above Division 1 and he only had one good year there too.
I LOVE Eck, but assume especially in this carousel he's a hot commodity. Plus, can you keep him from just going to Wisconsin whenever they fire Fickell?

My word. The thing is we should have been more hysterical after the Michigan loss. Losing by 17 to that team, which was basically a less talented version of their last year team but with a better QB who was still a very limited true freshman, with their best player hurt.
