Hardcore Husky Podcast: Selecting our all-time Husky skill position team

@DerekJohnson i was not alive to watch him in college. But watching highlights of him run he was not as explosive I thought. I have no doubts he is top 3 maybe 2. But I’m not sure I can put him above Kaufman and maybe even gaskin. And yes ypc is not as good of a stat back then.

I was assuming you weren’t around with that post☝️, no offense. Dude was a force of nature. Never seen anything like it.

I don't think there's a stretch of an answer in the group of Gaskin, Kaufman and Dillon and someone could probably go well actually Hugh McElhenny. Everything aside, fuck Lambright if Dillon really would have come back had he been guaranteed the starting spot.

Don’t forgot Lambright also botched the coverup of Shehee’s “jumping off a deck at a party during a shooting” injury. What a fucking oaf.

favorite slot receiver who died from AIDS w/out being molested by Michael Jackson; Go.
Someone who saw this comment but didn't listen to the pod wanted to know what this was about. On the pod I was telling the story from 1985 when USC running back Ryan Knight fumbled on the UW 2-yard line, and then Chris Chandler and Lonzell Hill drove the Dawgs 98 yards in the final minutes to secure the come-from-behind win. But I mistakenly called him Ryan White and then said "Wait a minute, wasn't he the guy that died from AIDS?"

People forget Dillon wasn't the starting tailback, that was Rashaan Shehee, who never really had a full season. That said by the end of the ASU game where Dillon and Huard came in to get the lead before a last second kick, sparked a memorable season. I'm trying to recall how we got boat raced by Notre Dame so badly. They would lose to Air Force the following week.

I don't think Bishop Sankey gets enough credit from dawg fans. If he stays a fourth year he possibly has the all time yards record, in virtually just three years as the focal point. I also think with a better line say of the Petersen years, he possibly gets close to 2000 for a season. All hypothetical.

What exactly is a SpoonieLuv?

Sankey is great. I think he gets lost in the shuffle because the program has a lot of really good RBs. Greg Lewis won the Doak Walker and never gets mentioned. Sankey I think gets passed over for playing on a bunch of forgettable Sark teams. It's a good point that had he played a fourth year like Gaskin and Kaufman he has more records. I don't think being really bad in the NFL helped his cause.

Greg makes up for it by being a blowhard about the 90 season on the Honks every week

I wanted to bring up Sankey but I didn't, and don't feel like listening to the pod so I didn't think I should have an opinion.
My opinion is that Sankey was as good as any RB ever at UW. He could grind for yards but could also get outside and outrun anyone on the field. We're not supposed to GAF about what they do as pros. The guy was good enough to put up monster numbers with horrible OLs, win the underwear Olympics, and get picked in the first round. He had an epic career.
