That Holiday Bowl was much lower scoring than I remember it being. In my brain, we? lost 68-66. But then I could be getting it mixed up with the Alamo Bowl loss to Baylor. That was like 85-77.

Major Applewhite was 45 of 59 for 780 yards and 7 touchdowns

and then he ruined his career while playing for the redskins against the hawks. Rushing it back too soon, too bad.
