Hardcore Husky Podcast: Not even Francisco Villar could spoil the Party

Florida scares me because they are a legit program and the personal connection. UCLA scares me because of the Wasserman connection and location/culture.
I do feel like there's momentum for coaches though in the current setup to stay at somewhere you are established and have a good gig right now over trying to rebuild some broken power like Florida. The whole I'm bringing my players thing has really only worked thus far at Indiana.
Judd's track record is so small though that whether we care if he leaves and his stock can change week-to-week. Lose to Wiscy or UCLA and we probably don't care much and he's a hard sell to any program other than UCLA maybe. Get through the three easy games and at least make it a game against Oregon and it's a whole other story.
Scares you for what? UW is in purgatory with Fisch. It's very clear he's not elite. He's Bellotti, at best. Mike stepped down for Chip Kelly 16 years ago. You? have at best more than 16 years ago Mike Bellotti. lmfao!
Let me explain this to an Oregon fan…

When most (see: “non-Oregon”) schools replace a “Bellotti,” they usually fuck it up horribly. Most of us don’t expect to fall upward from something like this. Chip Kelly ain’t walking through that MF door, I’m afraid.

We’re the school that fired Rick “Bellotti” Neuhiesal right before the season and replaced him with known failure Keith (“a bunch of midgets out there”) Gilbertson.
I get it. Still doesn't answer my question. Why would anyone be scared of losing Judd?
@RaceBannon would have fired Bellotti in 1996.

I don't know why it's so surprising, dtd, most think it's better to have at least one more year of Judd, especially with what would be coming back on the roster, than nuke the program for the second time in less than two calendar years the way you would have to with a new coach, even if he's better. Even if Judd has just a good year next year the program would be in a better place next year to hire someone else, especially since the carousel should be smaller. You have programs like LSU, Florida, and Penn State struggling to hire anyone good this year, how do you think Washington ends up in the pecking order?

It’s not Judd, it’s starting over. It gets old.

This. Add and develop more talent around Demond and make the playoffs next year. It can be done. It will be much tougher to make that happen without Jedd.

Yep, unless Judd craters the next few week, it's the best realistic path for the next 1-2 years. The progrum better be able to spend some cash going into next year in the portal at DE and probably WR maybe RB/DT and set up for a good 2026. We'd also be better setup if Judd left for the NFL as it would be less likely players portal after that.

This. If Jedd leaves, I’d much rather see him go to the NFL, but the odds of that are very low. If he goes to Florida, whatever. That’s his alma mater. If we get cucked by UCLA, burn the program down. It’s over.

Hell .. dial in the focus, win out and make the playoff THIS year!

Why not!?

I still need LIPO this month with Judd, but he doesn't straight up suck as a coach or progrum CEO. Maybe not even just mediocre. Guys like that would have won 2-4 games last year and been fighting for six this year.
Check back in when we lose 10-13 to Wisconsin though and I'll be ready to fire him and hire Kirby Moore before Missouri does when Drink leaves.

Yeah, next week is QUITE a litmus test here.

They need to go in there and be in control and win by 10+ by the end of it.

I'm going to be losing my mind if we are somehow "down 10 at half" or some BS.

I take very little from Oregon game for them. The Dicks are so far up their own ass, I'm sure they figured they'd win the game by just getting dressed in the correct costume.

Wiscy D has shown life at times and not been a complete pushover and our offense sucks against a D with a pulse, until proven otherwise, especially on the road. Might be overthinking it, but don't trust this team yet.

He has seemed to do a good job in recruiting and developing at both Arizona and here. The OL isn’t good enough yet, but there has been marked improvement with those guys.

I’m pissed and disappointed after every loss, but I also find the hyperbole on this board to be annoying. He hasn’t done well enough to say with certainty he is the guy and he hasn’t been bad enough to say he won’t be. That said, what else do we have to talk and argue about? IMO, I see a path to where he succeeds big at UW, but we’ll see.
